    Lmao

I love Golovkin, but dude isn't and shouldn't get 50/50 with canelo. He will be lucky to get 60/40.
If I'm canelo, I tell him 60/40 and a catchweight, or its 75/25 for a full 160. Canelo has all the leverage in the world, only thing Golovkin has going for him is the public backlash canelo has taken for running away. But public opinion of canelo won't matter in negotiations.

I'm no Canelo fan but he's clearly the one that draws out of the two and also the Lineal Champ. GGG's titles don't mean shit to Canelo. He doesn't need GGG but GGG needs him. GGG and his team need to quit with the diva act and make concessions to get this fight. Canelo vacated the WBC belt imo to not pay GGG a purse that he doesn't deserve. I feel like GGG and his team think they are worth more than they really are. Being an HBO hype job will only get you so far. If I were Canelo I'd also say VADA or USADA or no fight... I'm not saying GGG is on PED's but it'd be nice to see how he performs with testing being involved. 60/40 at 160lbs would be alright with Canelo getting most of the PPV backend.

Alvarez is 25 years old and basically hasn't fought beyond 154lb + 1; Golovkin is 35 years old and a career middleweight.

Alvarez didn't spar Golovkin by the Mayweather fight, and a quick search of the intrawebs puts the date of said sparring session back to 2011 (Alvarez being a 20/21 year old fighter just starting to settle into fighting at junior middleweight, with Golovkin being a 29/30 year old middleweight, 5 years into his run at middleweight, after spending the last 2/3 years of his amateur career fighting at 165lb).

Talent be damned, a 30 year old pro middleweight sparring a 20 year old pro junior middleweight (with nowhere near the level of amateur experience) is a bad look, made worse by the old fighter gloating about it.

About as silly as Darnell Boone considering his experience against a 21-year old, 6-fight middleweight Andre Ward, and then looking at his experience against a 13-0, 29-year old light heavyweight Sergey Kovalev, and then trying to talk ****.

They used to think he was worth more than he is. That's why Loeffler's excuse to Ward was GGG is about to fight on a PPV and will be worth way more than 50/50. They've come back down to earth but in the public they still try to portray him as a big star. But when fighters ask for them to pay them like they're fighting a big star they say they can't afford it.

This upcoming fight is his first fight doing VADA testing for more than 4 weeks. His Lemieux test started 3 weeks before the fight and his Wade test started 4 weeks before the fight.

I say 65-35 in favor of the ginger. He is obviously the bigger name.
Saul Alvarez is getting at least $15m for his fight with Liam Smith (between the Mexico TV money, the likely site fee from JerryLand, and the US PPV, I'd actually expect Alvarez's final take to be more.

Golovkin's biggest payday ever was $2m, and I sincerely doubt that he's getting much more than that to travel to England for kell Brook's fight card.

Golovkin's camp could ask for a lump sum $4m on the front end for the fight, but any actual fight split beyond 85/15 Alvarez would be deeply generous to Golovkin.

              65/35 my ass

                lets keep this realistic.

60/40 for alvy wouldnt be the worst deal.

                  just mho

                  whats yours ?
Alvarez isn't even a middleweight, and Golovkin wants him to give up the full 6 pounds, yet Alvarez is also supposed to give up 40% of the pot? For what?

Alvarez was the short money, to Floyd and Cotto; on every other fight, Alvarez hasn't taken less than (once the structure gets seen through) 85% of the take, and I don't see why that'd change now, especially with Golovkin being in the situation that he is (K2 being unwilling to put up the money for the final middleweight belt, and K2 being a bad discussion with Lou DiBella (dBE) away from being forced to drop one of Golovkin's precious belts).

Golovkin brings no money to the table, and isn't being asked to actually sacrifice anything, yet he's supposed to get near parity on the money? gtfoh.

Golovkin is a businessman, he's not serious.

                    A walking contradiction.

At the end of the day, we're all just wasting our time here. It's not like any of us are going to convince anyone else to change their point of view. Its not like someone is going to say, Oh well, so and so made a really good point so Im going to support this fighter now or not support that fighter. We all just bicker back and forth, each of us thinking that we have made great points while the other side does the same. Those that are fans of certain fighter will be fans of those certain fighters regardless of what some other poster says. At the end of the day, its just something to occupy our time. Arguing back and forth over the web...
