Oh since every current active fighter is avoiding GGG or getting exposed by GGG, you got nothing left but Hypothesis wet dreams and wishful thinking. BHop lost to Jermain Taylor.
Let me guess, you are black and just hate GGG for being white and because he exposes some of your beloved heros. You can't accept a white fighter becoming the face of the sport. Shame on you. Grow up and become a fan of the sport instead of becoming a fan of black fighters and a hater of white fighters.
You only seem to support white fighters when that helps putting another black fighter even on a higher pedestal.
Tell me your 5 favorite active fighters.Last edited by Jubei; 08-31-2016, 08:54 AM.

Hopkins was overrated, youll all redk me for it cause hes your hero but so be it. Jermain taylor beat him twice, hopkins not in the same league as someone like roy jones jr, who played with him in that fight. Calzaghe beat him easier than most make out (calzaghe was old too).Yeah it was impressive that bernard managed to beat solid fighters into his 40's but he was never an amazing fighter. Golovkin would have beat him too

Hopkins was very crafty, but not flashy. Unfortunately for him, his prime years passed in the shadow of RJJ. RJJ beat him and then went to higher divisions. Hopkins continued to hone his craft and beat whoever was available in middleweight. Much like GGG. He was somewhat an outsider and felt that some money fighters were protected from him for a long time. This is also resembles GGG career path a lot. Luckily for Hopkins Tito was brave enough to fight him. In reality Hopkins always was a "dried out" LHW who competed in MW due to his dedication in the gym, which allowed him to make weight. He was naturally much bigger man than Tito. With DLH I convinced that there was some behind the scenes agreement between them - I think they already were in the process of becoming business partners. So this fight was just a spectacle...
My view on the fantasy match up with GGG is that nobody would have a decisive advantage - they both are extremely crafty and smart fighters. Maybe Hopkins's reach will give him an advantage and he'd win something like 7-5. GGG does not have any visible weaknesses - the notion that he is slow comes from the deliberate pace he takes to "strangle" his overmatched opponents. He definitely has a great engine and this fight will last for the whole 12 rounds with nobody fading - real war of attrition. I don't envision any legitimate knockdowns, but could be a lot of wrestling and body-slamming. Hopkins could get dirty and with impartial referee some points could be deducted. Then again - we really don't know GGG's cealing - the pressure he applies and his body work could be too much even for Hopkins.
