    Danny Garcia: what went wrong?

This guy used to be one of the most popular fighters in NSB

When he KO'd Amir "queen" Khan, I would see his face in so many sigs and avi's and even his dad became some kind of legend.

Fast forward and he's still unbeaten and everyone hates him

He shouldn't have moved up to welterweight, in all honesty.

He won't ever fight the best, and he loses to all of them anyways.

Thurman, Porter, Bradley, Spence, Pacquiao, Floyd, Brook--- all of them beat him.

Money you have too many boxers acting like they should be getting Floyd, Cotto, Pacquiao type money..

I don't know what happened. You can recall:

Angel Garcia: Anyone Can Get it at 147, Even Mayweather

"After we're done with Malignaggi, we'll fight whoever," stated the trainer. "We never said no to nobody. Danny faced killers, just look at the resume, even before we got big, we had Shelly Finkel as our manager, and Shelly didn't make it easy."

Brooklyn, New York - The criticism for Danny Garcia (30-0, 17 KO’s) has been plentiful since his controversial decision victory over Mauricio Herrera in Puerto Rico early last year. It didn’t help matters that he fought an unranked lightweight in Rod Salka at a catch-weight of 142 pounds. This past April he won a decision over Lamont Peterson at a catch-weight of 143 pounds, in a bout many thought he lost as well.

Huh?...last time i checked Danny "Swift" Garcia is still 28 years old and has basically his whole carreer ahead of him while currently sporting a pretty solid resume with signature W's over guys like Holt, Campbell, Khan, Matthysse, Peterson, Judah & Guerrero.

Come back and make this thread 10 years from now. At this moment it's way too soon to ask "What went wrong with Danny Garcia".

What went wrong was Garcia used to be a good champion who defended his title a reasonable amount of times against good challengers. Then after he beat Matthysse he turned into a cherry picker and pretty much stopped defended his 140 pound titles. His best win was a catchweight fight at 143 over Peterson and many thought he lost that fight. He was basically gifted the vacant WBC welterweight title by fighting washed up Guerrero for it. The same Guerrero who so soundly thrashed by Thurman shortly before he fought Garcia. Guerrero was about a number 20 guy and had no business fighting for a vacant world title. He beat Guerrero a long time ago and has just sat on the title since then and turned down 4 million to fight Pacquiao. It looks like his next fight will be against washed up bummy Berto instead of someone like Spence. Now do you understand why he no longer gets much love? He doesn't deserve much love.

He was great when he beat Amir and Lucas. Then came no more meaningful or impressive wins. He's been in limbo.
