Saying brook was a last minute option is total bull****, and only fans of vaGGGina's are going to try to deny this.
They had backup plans outside the UK. Loeffler said that Golovkin would've been fighting on LA card with Roman had the Eubank deal fallen through, likely against Khurtsidze, Lee, Heiland or Korobov. The Brook fight is not only a big money fight, but it increases the future chances at getting Saunders, Eubank, and DeGale.

So it was a choice between another MW nobody cared about, or the most publicized fight of his career to date against a WW. Golovkin was going to criticized either way. It's a stay busy fight.
Again, put your pressure on Danny Jacobs to accept the fight for December.

It doesn't matter who GGG had agreed to fight. Unless it was Andre Ward, at whatever weight Andre wants, on whatever time frame Andre wants, these same posters are going to be critical of whoever Golovkin agrees to fight.

There are obvious differences in the choices made by Canelo and GGG. Canelo, in supposed preparation for Golovkin, chose, he selected, Amir Khan as his opponent. Meanwhile Golovkin, chose to wait a month almost for Canelo. Golovkin chose Canelo, Canelo chose to vacate. I even think there was talk of Saunders briefly, which amounted to nothing. Next, Golovkin chose Chris Eubank Jr. Eubank talked a good game for weeks, but when it was time to actually sign the deal, Eubank chickens out. GGG had a date to keep with HBO, and agreed to fight Brook. He didnt ask Brook, he didnt choose Brook, Brook stepped up like a real man amd chose Golovkin.

Then, there's the obvious difference between Brook and Khan. Brook is an undefeated champion at WW, a career WW, considered by some the best WW. Khan has had to move up divisions and was KOed at lighter weights. Khan is considered by most a joke witb a glass jaw and certainly not a top WW.

But, unless GGG fights Ward on Wards terms, or maybe Deontay Wilder, these same dudes will be here trashing 'lil g' for his opponent

There comes a point when GGG critics lose credibility. If you say gggs resume could be stronger you'd maybe have a valid point. But bickering and arguing over who is worse brook or khan then you lose credibility and crossed the line to hater.

If GGG beat eubank, eubank would be put in same bracket as Murray a bum. So all GGG has too do is beat ward or something? Then retire maybe!

Howcan itbe the same? Brookis a stubborn man who even refused to lose agai nst the current porter.
Porter is the in thing currently. Does the fact that brook hasn't been beat coun t for anything? How blinkered can some people be by juyst mentioning the fact that brook and khan moved up 2 weights.

OK if one crituscm against ggg is that his resdresdume isn't the best you might have a point. But if you are also saying brook is as bad as khsan then you will just be a GGG hater
If GayLoveKin would've fought him at 155, you'd have more of an argument. I think you should just be quiet now to save face.

the reasons between both might be different, but bottom line is he is still a middleweight fighting a welterweight

Dude, if that's all you got you could have saved that little comment. You're the one sitting here crying about fighting at some made up azz 155 division. Golovkin wants Canelo at the Middleweight limit of 160. He won't come down to the bare minimum of 155. Whaaah...

I agree, we can't be biased here. Hearing some posters say that GGG "brought Brook up" or "it's worse because Brook is going up two weight classes" just smells like hate. He didn't bring him up, how close minded can you be when Hearn threw jr under the bus himself. C'mon people!

You can't compare Canelo bringing khan up for a tune up to fight GGG after and vacating the belt, to GGG not being able to get an opponent and finally settling for someone that actually wanted to fight him. How did difficult is it to see that GGG actually wants to fight every top guy at 160? Like this guy said, it was a better move to fight Brook in the UK knowing the time frame and money involved than to fight another "bum" at 160.

Give the Ward and Lara talk a rest already. They have their own career paths and plenty of game opponents to worry about. As for the 154-168 talk, it happened a long time ago so please just take it out of your arguments. If you have something concrete to say and logical by all means go ahead but those two subjects are like listening to a one hit wonder over and over again.

For the record I don't like that he's fighting a WW, who wouldn't have done the same in those circumstances though? I sure as hell wouldn't of passed the chance up regardless if it made me a hypocrite. Being honest and nice only gets you so far in life and that applies to the sport of boxing. Sometimes you have to take risks and change it up a bit if you will.

Brook is a great fight for GGG as he maybe the first fighter that won't be considered a bum. He is considered very good, just small. Let's face it eubsnk would have been a bum once GGG beat him.
