Let's see, because he has an 88% KO percentage, stopped Quillin in 88 seconds and has 11 straight KO's since beating cancer.

He poses the toughest challenge to GGG at 160

        Funeral Costs

Right now it's just about making everything work to please both sides of the field," Jacobs told BoxingScene.com. "Like I've said, this is a super megafight. I've never been the type of person who counts other people's money, like saying Amir Khan got his or Canelo got this, or any other people. I don't count other people's money, but I know my worth. You understand what I'm saying? And every time I get in that ring, I want to make sure I'm compensated accordingly."
Khan got paid ****** money b/c he was being compensated for an execution. Is that how Danny views himself against Golovkin?

Regardless, Jacobs wants to fight Golovkin sometime in 2017. He didn't divulge the specific figure that'll make the Golovkin fight more appealing to him, but stressed that it'll need to be markedly more than he has been offered thus far.

"It just wasn't the number we were looking for," said Jacobs, who is advised by Al Haymon. "It didn't have the potential to make what I believe was fair. I made a career-high, on record, of $1.5 million for the Quillin fight. And to have it kind of close to that, I was like, 'Wait a second. I could fight two Peter Quillins and make the same thing.' So let's up the numbers just a little bit to make me happy. I'm not asking for no crazy double digits [eight figures] or anywhere close to that. But do me right, man."
This is just like when DeCubas mentioned how Lara got $1mill to fight Delvin Rodriguez. These guys get these inflated purses that have nothing to do with their market value, then actually believe they can make extrapolated financial demands outside of their PBC bubble.

It sounds like K2 offered Danny the same deal they offered Lemieux, which is reasonable and honest of the market value of the fight. You make a pro-forma based off past events. Danny's fight with Quillin, flopped. Previous to that, Danny's next highest payday was $550k vs Mora. Danny only made $100k to fight Fletcher. How come he's not considering all that into his 'worth'?

This was one of the bigger complaints I had about Haymon paying these guys ****** money for crap fights. He killed their fire.

They are pushing hard on social media, which is probably saving them some money, but I'm not sure how effective it is. I don't work for PBC and have access to their spread sheets. They have to find a way to get Jacobs on HBO. GGG is becoming one of the faces of boxing and Jacobs story is remarkable, with the whole battle with cancer angle. I think with a lot of hard work and hustle both sides can find a way to make an offer that everyone involved can be happy with.
Not necessarily. HBO has given permission in the past for fighters under contract to go on Showtime. Doug Fischer talked about them letting Pernell Whitaker do that.

If Haymon/Showtime put up over $6mill, to which Golovkin would be getting over $4.5mill, then I believe Peter Nelson would open the door to allow Golovkin to accept the Showtime fight. Here's why; by allowing Jacobs to pick up a title in that fashion, HBO would be diminishing their product (Golovkin). Letting Golovkin go on to Showtime, destroying the Showtime fighter for major money, then coming back on to HBO would something of a secondary win for HBO.

But again, the chances that this goes to purse bid are very slim. The economics are very much against Jacobs in that situation. People were clamoring that Haymon was going to use the Wade situation to strip Golovkin of the IBF title, when in reality they agreed to terms within the week.

But he may as well retire if he doesn't want to be world champ. What's his end game? To keep fighting Sergio Mora?
              Dude...shut that shi.t up.
You sound like you're been eating dogs too.

Jacobs rightfully wants to be payed a fair amount to fight GGG or anybody else.

              Don't get all dumb..

That's a fair point. Not sure I buy it but fair.

Haymon's greatest trick is wildly over-paying his fighters. That's how he built his stable and destabalised the other promotional companies.

But now we are seeing the full-effects. Danny wants to be paid Haymon money to fight Golovkin by....who? K2? HBO? Why should they have to match the Haymon-inflation? Does he not realise that people are not holding back money as part of a negotiation tactic. It just isn't there.
