    By Rick Reeno is a week away from his scheduled return. Ward, who's been out of the ring since November 2013, During Ward's period of inactivity, his name was consistently linked to several potential fights. One of those potential fights would come against WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30KOs). In an interview conducted last year, Golovkin's trainer Abel Sanchez said his boxer was willing to fight any notable name from junior middleweight to super middleweight. In a direct response to that interview, Ward raised his hand and said he was ready to fight Golovkin. At that time, Golovkin's handlers had legitimate concerns because Ward had an ongoing legal battle with his former promoter. That legal issue has long been resolved. During several recent interviews with Golovkin and members of his team, Ward's name has once again been raised for a potential fight. Golovkin's promoter, Tom Loeffler of K2, is receptive to the idea of fighting Ward but believes they need additional time to build it up into a pay-per-view attraction. Ward does not agree with Loeffler's response and views it as another excuse to avoid the fight - noting that Golovkin has attempted to face two different super middleweights, Carl Froch and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., in the last twelve months. Both Chavez and Froch are physically bigger than Ward.

    The fight was on the table, HBO offered the fight in 2013 when Ward was a good name and ACTIVE, GGG said "lets fight at 168, in Oakland", Ward said "mmh uuuh my shoulder"... and went on to face Edwin Rodriguez instead.

    The guy who himself said some time ago in interviews he cant possibly make 168, even struggles to make 175 wanted to face GGG about now. At 168. And you guys fell for that hoax.

    He already avoided GGG in 2013 and kept avoiding GGG until he fueled your agenda with a hoax offer an hour after GGG signed for Lemieux and announced his plans for 2016 (WBC mandatory)

        the haters will ignore all of that and they wont read the article. this 'ggg ducked ward' thing is the only thing these lowlifes have got to cling to, and as such they will close their eyes and cover their ears if they ever have someone explaining facts as to why thats garbage.

            ... They will always say that Ward came back at LHW, back in 2015, only in order to fight at SMW again...

                        That article is hilarious. I like how ward acts like he's some type of tough guy for doing commentary for a fight in froch's "backyard".

                            At what point am I concerned by Golovkin missing out on step aside fees and revelling in it ? My concern is Golovkin is taking step aside fees rather than pursuing fights. Which is besides the point anyway, I'm fed up of seeing Golovkin against overmatched opponents, my idea of a fight is a competitive fight not one sided beat downs, clearly their ain't a challenge at 160 for him, unless you're completely ******ed or a fan boy trying to justify these shyt match ups he has fought and is pursuing.
