Froch was talking about retirement before a Froch-Lil G fight was ever mentioned. Froch got out at the right time, he was way past his best.

I could buy that, if only he kept his mouth shut about GGG

but the fact hes opening his mouth to openly talk trash about GGG makes me think hes definetly butthurt

it reminds me of Lennox, who during years wouldnt waste any opportunity to bad mouth Klitschko, the man who forced him to retire

these fighters are prideful, and they just cant live with the feeling that they retired sooner than they had planned, because there was a dangerous man they had to avoid at all costs. It took Lennox years to finally overcome his trauma, I guess it will be the same with Froch

The fact that Froch was at an age and had a career where retirement was a legitimate option at the time of the ggg negotiations shows what ggg's camp look for in a fighter. His heart wasn't in it and he left, but while there he fought people, ggg hasn't. Abel can try to protect the image as much as possible, but at this point we still have more hype than substance on his fighter.
