I remember this kid when he was being trained by Roach, he gave Pacquiao hell and he was only 16 years old when he started sparring Manny.

Sadly he never really improved, similar to Frankie Gomez tons of potential but they never lived up to the hype.

Yea I remember. I really expected Benavidez & Gomez to take the boxing world by storm once they turned pro. I was even predicting Benavidez vs Gomez would be a super fight around this year iirc at one point back in their amateur days lol. Neither has really lived up to their hype.
