Comments Thread For: Vargas is Open To Facing Crawford After Stunning Pacquiao

When former 8-division champion Manny Pacquiao make it known that his retirement would be brief and that he would be returning to the ring, former 4-division champion Adrien Broner was the frontrunner to land the fight with WBC/WBO super lightweight champion Terence Crawford and WBO welterweight champion Jesse Vargas also in the running.

pac vs vargas is gonna be fight of the year watch, vargas gonna get dropped like 4 times but always gonna get up and take it to pacquaio and when the follow up flurry the bell rings and saves pacquaio till finally round 12 vargas looks done and pacquaio letting his hands go like he did against oscar and the ref is about to jump in anysecond and out of no where vargas digs deeps and out war pacquaio in the last flurry and hurt pacquaio to the body and takes pacquaio out with only 3 seconds left!

        Crawfords ducks vargas.

Lol Vargas is pretty sturdy man, I dont think Pac will get 4 KD's. Maybe a flash KD from speed but I think Vargas is going to hurt Pacman. Vargas has good defense and the key will be that Vargas learned to throw with these fast guys and thats how you catch Pacquiao plus hes taller and at a prime age. This is an upset waiting to happen. Im a big TC fan so personally if Vargas wins Id rather see him go another route, DSG vs Vargas would be a dream fight if Vargas gets past Pac but we will probably get a re-match.

Sorry Guys he couldn't do much with Bradley, how is he going to get Pac. Pac will pepper him to death. Remember All of Pac's last few opponents besides Rios have been going away from him. This is the first guy in a while that is coming to him. Good luck. We will see the angles and speed shots Oscar, Margarito and others saw. He will be more of a boxer but he will hit Vargas alot.

Thats the thing, I dont think many people have seen Vargas fight. They base their assumption of him on the Tim Bradley fight. A majority of Vargas career he was trained by Cubans that trained him to fight off his back foot, his old Cuban trainer always said that they could tell Vargas naturally was a comeforward fighter but they trained him to fight off the back foot 90% of his career. So Vargas can fight going back, hes not a forward plotting punching bag like Margarito or a weight drained De La Hoya.

If you re-watch the Tim Bradley fight when Morales was in his corner, Morales kept begging Vargas to come forward and use the 1-2, he kept telling him you have a GREAT 1-2. BUT the whole fight until the 12th Vargas kept doing what he had been taught from the Cubans and fighting off the back foot which is a HUGE no no against Tim Bradley. Then it was like all of a sudden a light switch went off and he realized it in the 12th when it was to late. Dewey Cooper I think seen that and ran with it, now we have a Vargas that comes forward, sits on his punches more but again dont get it twisted, Vargas has D and legs, hes not going to just stand there and get peppered and hes going to punch while Pac is punching.

However Bradley fights dumb and is a sucker for a brawl. This version of Pac is what i call a power boxer. He flurries moves and hits you when you don't see the punches coming. Yes Vargas is sturdy, but he will get hit with stinging shots, not the thunderous shots. His face will be marked up good.

If Vargas wins, this would make perfect sense!

Yeah chances are honestly bro that you are right, this is Vargas fight to win even though hes the champ. All Manny has to do is be Manny, its Vargas that has to fight a perfect fight, all I am saying is Vargas has what it takes to fight that perfect fight. Hes not Brandon Rios or Antonio Margarito, his skillset along with his physical attributes (taller/longer & chin) give him a lot better chance then people think. Its a sleeper fight. Of course if Vargas wins, Manny will be called old but I dont think age will be the majority losing factor.
