    He was never that good..

    1. Not a great amateur

    2. Struggled everytime he stepped up, from ponce, pauli, Porter, Maidana

    3. Got hit way too much, but was lucky enough to be fighting guys with no punching power like pauli or Rees. Anyone that watched him in the lower weights, early in his career could see how he would struggle vs big punchers and world class movers

    4. Tried too hard to be like floyd, except he didn't have the IQ, footwork, dedication or defense

Wasn't willing to put in the work required to turn potential into production. Kid had a lot of tools, but he started thinking he was worth top end bucks before he earned it.

Say what you want about his "hero" Floyd - I don't like him, but the guy had a ridiculous amount of drive and desire to be the best. Broner just doesn't have that drive.

      And, he's a fkn idiot.

If Broner is garbage GGG is toxic waste.
        Who has Broner beat?

He was chilling with Floyd at the clubs and seemed set.

Fast forwards a couple years and the dude is looked at as like a bad joke.

I mean maidana was sposed to be a cherry pick by broner. The stiff slow plodder from Argentina had been beaten by Khan and taken to school by Devon. Broner was sposed to style on him

So where did it all go wrong
The simple answer is that he got caught up with the "Money" Mayweather persona and forgot about Floyd Mayweather Jr, the fighting prodigy who is so maniacal about his craft that he's sleeping in a home that is at least worth $15m, yet still tortured his body every three-hour training session when in camp (getting up out of his sleep to run 10 miles, just because he had a dream that didn't feel right).

Broner had that hunger on the way up, basically lost his mind once he became a three division champion (live your life the way you want to live, but tonguing down a stripper, period, wasn't a good look), and has yet to really get back to being that hungry fighter again.

That pretty much sums it up.

Oh Deranged, any chance to seem superior just gives you a hard on, doesn't it. Broner was exactly what he seemed at 135 and had the division running scared.

He moved up too fast too quickly against a Maidana who swiftly proved his worth against Mayweather. The narrative the boxing world conspired to let Broner be rich and famous despite having no talent is just moronic.

You guys would have said the same about James Toney many times through his career yet now hail him as an ATG.

Broner had an amateur record of 300-19 [1]
2002 and 2003 National Silver Gloves Champion
                      2005 National Junior Olympics semifinalist

So that was just a lie, considering he was going to the Olympics but he got locked up.

                      2. Struggled everytime he stepped up, from ponce, pauli, Porter, Maidana

Did Floyd not struggle with Corley/Augutus/Chaves? Did Cotto not struggle with Torres/Corley/? He rushed into Maidana and never wanted the Porter fight as he wanted to box at 140.

                      3. Got hit way too much, but was lucky enough to be fighting guys with no punching power like pauli or Rees. Anyone that watched him in the lower weights, early in his career could see how he would struggle vs big punchers and world class movers

Really because people say this about Spence/Crawford and they are haters. No one is Floyd and Whitaker except them two. Fighters get hit.

                      4. Tried too hard to be like floyd, except he didn't have the IQ, footwork, dedication or defense
If you are gonna fight in a style why not fight the best? Only thing he doesn't have is the dedication or will to win that Floyd has.

Seriously this bandwagon down selling of Broner is getting old.
