When you hardcore Golovkin fans say...."no one will fight him", make sure you put all the caveats that exist. Fact is, if the fight is 50-50 or Trip might not look good in the win...money is the issue. If the other fighters is in another weight class, they HAVE to come up or down to 160.

Riddle me this...if fighting at 164 made the 50-50 split with Ward fair, wouldn't a catchweight with Alvarez make the 55-45 split also fair? It's not my logic or perspective, I just feel K2 and Trip should be consistent in their reasons for not making certain fights.

Yep, I can answer you that. Why would you offer a CW for a fighter that already outweights you fight night? that is using whatever method to drain himself to make weight for an inferior division (and failing to do so).

If the CW have any sense is for fighters from different divisions.

Yep, I can answer you that. Why would you offer a CW for a fighter that already outweights you fight night? that is using whatever method to drain himself to make weight for an inferior division (and failing to do so).

MW is one of the worse divisions in boxing, LMW is actually pretty good.

I believe it was Hearn that "moved up a welterweight". Golovkin wanted to fight Eubank, but he couldn't find his pen. Golovkin has been wanting to secure fights with other MW champs. Its guys like Canelo and Ward that have wanted to pull guys up in weight

Sorry, I meant lower division. In Spanish inferior also means lower that's why I got confused.

As for the MW division sucking, it's impossible. It's just marketing. There are really good MW fighters, it's just that boxing is a business more than a sport and we only have 5 guys being considered contenders.

Kovalev was Ward's only option for a big fight. Ward said it himself, he was preassured to move up by HBO. Who knows if he was actually preassured or if he couldn't make 168 anymore. I don't know.

Golovkin is more popular and has more options staying at his weight. The original fight was Eubank jr, but Eubank sr wanted more money after they already had a deal, so Hearn proposed Brook. Not a bad fight to be honest if you compare it to the Wades and Monroe Jr's of the world.

The fight is a sell out. The fight is a career highest payday for both Golovkin and Brook. The fight is gonna be huge. This puts Golovkin on the top of the UK market, where he can get better fights at 160 or 168.

All this context I'm explaining should be very easy to see for anyone with a little common sense and knowledge of Golovkin's situation in the past 5 years or so.
