..... how will your quote above be most accurately described ?
Making weight for one fight has little bearing on how he has conducted his business over the last 3 years. You can either say he was an overblown JMW, or you can say he was just a full blown JMW hiding at 155. Either way, Canelo has a history of being in "his own" weight divisions, rather than those established by the sport.

If Canelo makes 154 in 3 weeks, then he should be removed as the Ring MW champion, pursuant to their rules.

This fight is as big as it can be right now. There is no-one that G can fight at MW that will grow his reputation and if he goes up to 168 and gets a belt then GBP will use that as an excuse not to fight him.
Canelo's rep could go up a bit if he beat Saunders or cleared out 154. He will NOT be put in with any of the other champs or contenders at 154 as that would be high risk low reward. I doubt he will even be put in with Lemieux as if he went life and death with him what would that say.
It really is a case of just waiting for Golovkin to get old/show signs of wear and tear. Shameful for boxing, and a great pity for fans as Canelo could pull off a shock against G and G is over hyped anyway so we don't know how great he is.

I realize that the money is tempting but I don't think Golovkin should wait around for Canelo. After his next joke of a fight, he should move to 168.

Oscar is a snake and Canelo is a good fighter , but this is really ridiculous. Yeah when he goes to 168 and hasn't fought Canelo all the old Mayweather nutthangers will be on here claiming he ducked someone , Not necessarily Canelo but a guy like Spence or Lara. Typical hide their hate because no one has taken over their chickens*** champs role.

So, the only reason the Canelo fought Cotto was because "Canelo wanted to fight Cotto"? Interesting......so, I guess Canelo doesn't want to fight GGG?

The detractors are demanding that GGG moves up. If they call him a ducker once he does that, their hypocrisy will be exposed and their credibility will be in the toilet. Not that it matters of course.

But there's nothing going on for him at 160 and his talent is going to waste.

Golovkin said he only has 2-3 good years left.. so yeah. They wont have to wait 6-7.

If you didn't notice, Ward is a light-heavy now....

Saunders, Eubank, and Jacobs all didn't want the fight. Brook is a name (kinda) and since he is a Khan rival, and Canelo just fought Khan, it kind of makes since in a weird way. Hopefully after GGG TKOs Brook, Khan will fight Brook and GGG will fight Canelo - that is the perfect scenario.
