Should build up some experience and cachet before trying to stand up to Floyd on what he should do with his career IMO.

Gervonta is a grown man and at the end of the day can do what he wants but I think it's a big mistake not listening to Floyd at this point in his career...
Yep. People so quick to jump on Floyd because they hate him but Davis needs to listen to what Floyd is telling him. Davis needs to get out of BMore. I look at his instagram, Twitter, and his broadcasts on Periscope. The environment he's in isn't good for him. Floyd has invested a lot of money in this kid and he knows this fight against Sosa is a big step up. He wants Davis away from that environment and in Vegas where he can keep an eye on him.

Some guys just got that hometown mentality. They think their block is the center of the universe. Even Broner admitted he has to get out of Cincy because it's to many distractions. Floyd saw what Grand Rapids did to his family and got the hell outta there. Most people don't realize your friends don't really want to see you doing better than them. I want to see you doing good but not better than them. They want your spot. Lil boosie calls it "hypnotized with hatred"

I can see the intent, he spoke about it before. Wanting to get him out of that environment so he can focus on his path and not allow all those things around him to derail what he has going for himself. Maybe if someone had done something similar to Broner he'd be in a better place right now. People that don't think will call Mayweather a control freak just look like somebody that cares to me.

Floyd is right but if Davis heart isn't in being focused only on his boxing career it is not like moving to Vegas is going to help him because trouble can be got into there just as easily as Baltimore.

Athleticism is great, boxing skills are great, work ethic in the gym is great but eventually it comes down to keeping your eye on the ball and as guys get successful they are bound to lose that focus, but early on before a guy has even made it is a terrible sign for his long term potential.

yes i did. Shows a kid who is fighting against good advise and a promoter who wants him to be the face and stay clear of trouble.

And Arum is known for shelving fighters so this has nothing to do with how good Floyd is

Gervonta Davis is easily the best prospect Mayweather Promotions has. Has potential to be very good. Losing him would be devastating. Especially since they couldn't Mikey Garcia.
