Is it wrong to root for a fighter just because he is the same race or ethnicity?

You got no right to judge a rapist a *****phile or a woman beater unless you know them on a personal level.... riiiiighhhhhhhhhhhhtttttt

being a rapist and have misdemeanor battery allegations or mishaps are two entirely different matter. You idiots throwing around "he a woman better doe" probably have or beat the living ***** out of your women and children. If you don't have any video or camera evidence of the situations, your opinon means nothing. you weren't there nor was I.

why are you posting this mans rap sheet, this is a boxing site...if anything how about you post your own?

he never tested positive for any illegal substances and championed the ODST in pro boxing in the early part of the decade

keep reaching bro....it must suck to see this low life, live it up while you slander him over the internet

thought it was grown men on this site, not females. Just admit you don't like the guy because you believe he is a "black thug" and spare us the moral righteous bull crap.

      I haven't.

But I've known lots of white guys who root for black boxers to beat white boxers.

When I was a kid, I never cared much. I used to like Mike Tyson, and I was a fan of black athletes in other sports. My parents taught me to respect everyone. But then I went over to the USA to watch some fights, and saw all the black fans were rooting for black boxers. Even when a black boxer from overseas was fighting a local American white guy, the black fans all rooted for the black boxer.

I got to know some black people in Toronto when I lived there, and I was surprised that in the Olympics, they were rooting for black athletes from other countries to beat the white Canadians.

All the Filipinos I know support Filipino boxers, and all the South Asians support Amir Khan (even the Sikhs who were at war with Khan's people for centuries).

I don't have anything against any other race, but experience has taught me to like my own people more and always support them.

However, I do dislike the self-righteous, holier-than-thou white people who feel we shouldn't root for our own too because it's not "politically correct". In a way, they are the most racist of all: they feel whites are somehow morally superior, so we shouldn't be like all the other people and root for our own.

Question? Why do you care so much of what Black Fight Fans are doing and who they're rooting for? Kinda weird that you care SO MUCH, I could make that argument for ALL to be honest, how many Black Fighters have you rooted for to beat your Eastern European Fighters?

So basically Black Americans Opinions are very important to you is what you're saying? This is exactly what I'm talking about, so it is not about people rooting for their own, it is the fact that people like yourself think it is somehow UNFAIR that Americans (especially Black Americans) root for their Own

          Read my post more carefully!

I don't mind black fight fans rooting for black boxers. I've never said it's unfair. I've always praised The Big Dunn for loving and supporting his own people.

I don't like self-righteous jackasses saying white people can't root for their own as well. That's what's unfair and a double standard.

The problem I have is when certain fans only support. fighters of their own race and **** on any other fighter who isn't the same race as them. Boxing is a multicultural sport and there are great fighters of all races and nationalities that deserve respect and appreciation.
That's my thoughts exactly. I think its completely understandable, and somewhat inherent, to like a fighter thatis your nationality or race. Just look at the Olympics. People were cheering on their countrymen, those who represent them. There is nothing wrong with having pride in your country or race.

The problem I have is when it turns into hatred for another fighter simply because of his race or country. If you dont like a fighter, please find a better reason for disliking him than He is from there, or he looks like that.

You'd think there was no other good fighters about I don't see many people defending Edwin Valero or still ranting and raving about how good he was he might have been a fun fighter to watch but scum is scum and I refuse to support pieces of shiet unlike you.

Boxing fans have always rode with their own since the sport was created. True boxing fans like anyone who can fight. It doesn't come down to color for me. If you can fight you can fight. Fanatics have their own place in boxing. And you can tell because they are terrible posters.

bro...I don't speak on people I don't know, personal life's. this is a boxing site....take the moral righteous crap somewhere else

do you really think their aren't any woman beaters, rapist, killers, racist bigots, thiefs, dudes cheating on their spouses, dead beat etc on this site? Many of the people who trash fighters because of their personal mishaps, have darker sides and bigger skeletons in their own closets. Its easy to pass judgement when your mistakes aren't thrown in the public to see

I don't care about these dudes personal lifes nor do I judge their talent in the ring based off of who they are outside of it

I know what Valero did, I was never high on him as a fighter, he was overrated as all hell.

But I don't let that bother me, I expect it. If they want to hate Loma because he's white or hate GGG because he's not black, that's their choice.

I don't hate any fighter unless they are of bad character or are cheaters. I do root for my own race.

Truth is, human beings usually root for their town, family, country, and race in sports. It's natural and instinctive to do so. Everybody does so except for a few priggish white people who feel they are special and morally superior.
No, it's not true. I don't like GG, but I don't hate him....but I love Loma. And you don't speak for anyone other than yourself. Loma and GG fans don't like Floyd's fans or Walters fans. Is that a true statement? You probably think it is. Fact is there will be some white and black fans who don't like the opposite of their color, race or ethnicity. Boxing fans of any color like guys who can fight period. Your preference is your preference. But don't stain us with your logic. There is a grain of truth to what you said, but it ain't the truth.
