you guys sound like a broken record....where were all the clinches and head butts vs Froch, Smith, Barrera, Dawson, and Brand.


seems like a ready made excuse in case Kovalev loses to me...i like both fighters, but its pretty lame how some of you guys act like Ward needs a ref and judges when he has won EVERY fight in his career clearly.

clinched a lot against froch from what i remember. he even had points deducted against rodriguez.

i havent watched wards last couiple of fights because im not interested in him going 12 rounds with bums, like most sane people arent. I have seen him in the super 6 and i know what hes like.
Ward is bookies favourite but i dont think hes going to win. 5 years of no competitive fights and i also think that even at his peak he was overrated as i think the super 6 line up was pretty mediocre. Put any of the rest of that super 6 line up against kovalev or the pimp and i would fancy them two to beat them pretty comfortably. Even think someone like jean pascal would have held his own against most of that lot.

I'd rather not talk about us or our ring experience. Fighters deserve respect, not a cheap outlook.

I wonder how many times we have to repeat this friend? Scribes are constantly after him for interviews. What's he to say? "Oh I doubt my guy Kov beats Ward, but hey we gotta do this fight, so..."

Exactly. Glad to see a few fans bring up this reality... although I think Ward's better than some think he is. But no worries, we'll find out soon enough. I just hope like he!! it isn't some lame ref allowing a Ward hug n' headbutt fest all night long.

Ward takes punches every fight. Especially uppercuts and other counters. He'll definitely get a wakeup call soon enough vs Kov.

I just hope Ward gets a wakeup call and gets deducted points for that b.s. If you can't win a fight fair and square, IMO you haven't won the fight. I don't care what the official results say.

Friend, I've never said Ward wasn't talented, but there is in fact a formula to beat him, just like with every fighter. And I'm not apologizing for saying Ward can be quite dirty in the ring... because it's fact. But I can understand your viewpoints. Friends used to tell me Evander headbutted all the time. I didn't realize it though. Then I went back and watched closer, and yes, sometimes they were right. Point being, I can change my mind about a fighter. But it would be hard to do with Ward because I have seen him do some dirty tricks in the ring. Many times. Still doesn't mean I hate him. I think he's done very well for himself. I just don't happen to think he beats Kovalev without some fouling, and I hope the ref keeps him honest... both fighters actually. Anyway, no worries, we'll all probably get a good fight outta this one. I'll take it any day.

I was going to respond with some boxing, but it's not worth it after reading the first paragraph. Maybe we will debate in another thread.
