I dont think there is. P4p #1 right now due to lack of fights between P4p fighters, kovelev ward is the first one were getting since Floyd left the crown so him and ward have a legit shot to be the clear 1 in November.
Roman is a great talent but he fights on ggg's undercard and there isn't any real p4p challange at that weight idk why he's considered #1.
Like Floyd always took on the best guys available. He knew Khan would give him big problems, and avoided Khan for years. And to those who will point to Khan's iffy chin, let's not forget Khan hardly ever loses rounds in ANY of his fights, he just gets chinned and stopped - but Floyd knew he could not stop Khan and knew he'd lose rounds. That fuc king cherry picker has sold low IQ people the idea that he was great, yes, a great businessman (and a fine fighter), but he was always shy of the best opponents. His best wins were Hatton prime and Canelo - great wins but he also dodged a few bullets.
Kovalev, Crawford, Roman, GGG, Brook, these are the top guys, there are others in the mix but of course it's about opinions, but no way does Ward get near my top 10 P4P after his diva cherry antics the last 5 years - can't wait till that boy gets his nightime medicine from Sergey. I'd take Andre Dirrell over him if they fought today, but he ducked Dirrell like he ducked GGG.Last edited by Froch_uppercut; 08-28-2016, 06:23 AM.Comment

To me it will come down to what Roman does next, assuming he beats Cuadras. If he fights and beats say Inoue after that, Roman would be my number one over the winner of Ward vs Kovalev. In fact Roman really has more opportunities to fight top flight opposition than Kov or Ward. You got Cuadras who he is fighting, Inoue and an Estrada rematch. If he were to beat all them I don't see what Kov or Ward could do to match that level of opposition. So I don't think it is some forgone conclusion that the winner of Ward vs Kovalev will be the p4p king and even if they are it may be short lived.Comment

Again you are making false claims - a welterweight has a frame that can fill into a HW ; its not uncommon for these men to move up in weight like the greats have throughout the past : James Toney , RJJ, Hearns , Hopkins etc. In contrast the frame of a flyweight usually is rather limited to carry so much weight and effectively compete at higher divisions for example when was the last time a flyweight reached welterweight? its unheard of....Therefore Pacquiaos climb up eight divisons ( or More I cant remember right now ) is greater than RJJ or Hearns...not because of the number but because how he pushed his body to the limit and still competes at the highest level.
Final point that if you look at the in ring fatalities you should not be surprised how much greater the rate is in the lower weights from 160 and up.
But you're also forgetting that there's no weight cutoff at the HW divison. You could be barely making 200, and potentially fight a hulking giant at 270, 6'6. And imagine if that guy is actually skilled. It's not going to happen a lot, but it is entirely possible because that is the reality of the top divison. That's where the danger comes from.Comment

All good valid points, I salute you sir. Has there been a welterweight that climbed up to HW? I can't recall one. I would think it would be quite hard for a 147er to put on that much weight.

Retired former super middleweight champion Carl Froch has tabbed IBF/WBA/WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (30-0-1, 26KOs) as being the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world.

Ward's devoted loves think that Brand was a tough opponent and Chilemba was a bum....I think Chilemba would have likely beat Ward.....or at least gave him a very tough fight....Brand was a super middleweight who moved up to fight Ward.....that was a joke...Comment
