i will say this about floyd,

he has gotten much better at staying in pocket and using proper defensive technique as he's gotten much older.

when he was younger,

he did a lot of LITERAL RUNNING and it was being passed off as boxing wizardry by the al haymon crowd.



floyd an ward have gotten much better at not spoiling fights these last few years....

If you're one of those cats who believe some of these black fighters "run". So you can see what REAL running is.

Rounds 3 and 5 and a bit of 4...The "Notorious" Conor McGregor literally turned his back and high tailed it in the opposite direction because he was gassed and didn't want to get mauled. THAT is running. To the point Diaz actually pointed and laughed at him.



It was shades of Broner/Porter for a hot minute.

Please don't confuse that with any of the stylistic presence of Rigo, or Crawford, or Floyd. Guys who stayed face forward while they lured their opponents in for counter strikes (aka sweet science).








Conor TRIED to do that and got served quite a few times for his trouble; thus resorting to full scale running.

As I said in the other thread, Mayweather stops McGregor inside of 6 rounds.

ESPN analyst at the fight had Diaz winning.

To be honest, that was a good fight. It was a war for the first three rounds and yes in the fourth round Conor did literally run away from Diaz. He was taking a lot of punishment from Diaz in the third round and did everything he could to stay away from Diaz and run out the clock in the final two rounds. Floyd has done some excessive movement in fights but he has never turned his back on his opponent to jog across the ring like Conor did in the Octagon last night.

People, for the most part, give Conor a pass because the fight was so intense at moments. But there are people online giving Conor crap for running. I don't know why you need to bring this up on a boxing forum. Most of the guys on here don't give a damn about Conor either way.
