That's a good question you ask. In ward's second pro fight he got put on spaghetti legs by some guy named Kenny Kost. It's kind of hard for a lot of people to get that out of their heads.

Jackson is just trying to play mind games with Ward.
If Kovalev couldn't KO a geriatric Hopkins, how is he going to stop Ward?
Ward will fight his fight. Lots of holding, no risk boxing, always looking for counters.
Kovalev would play right into Ward's hands by going for a KO.
Money talks and the bookies have Ward a slight favorite, so that should tell you something.Comment

The ref will be critical. If he lets Ward hold all night it will make K's job harder.
K's uppercut is important. If he can catch Ward early in the fight as Ward darts in to smother K's work it will take this tactic away from Ward.
W doesn't have the power to really hurt K.
I have K winning. It may well be a similar fight to the Hopkins fight with Ward spoiling but getting caught often enough to lose on points. He probably will be extremely defensive to avoid taking a big head shot so K will have to work downstairs. K's body work is brutal.
V interesting fight.Comment

Maidana is a great example of someone that refused to be held. Mayweather tried to tie him up in both of their fights and he would allow it.....Comment

"Kovalev would play right into Ward's hands by going for a KO".
How you think I'm saying Kovalev is coming to KO Ward is a mystery to me. SMHLast edited by ruedboy; 08-21-2016, 04:13 PM.Comment

I think Kov could have pressed for the stoppage if he wanted to. He seemed to show mercy on Hopkins that night.
I hate when people don't hold fighters accountable for allowing their opponent to hold. The ref does play a part but ultimately it's the fighter's job to prevent someone from implementing their game plan.

Andre Ward will be too smooth for the clumsy awkward Kovalev
Andre beats slow Kovalev on a decision as Kovie cannot find Ward enough to hit him. Kovalev wants fighters to stand in front of him and **** away but Ward is too smart to do that and will confuse the bewildered Russian and Make Kovie look ****** and dumb. Fact. Bet Ward to win the fight.Comment
