If you thought Trout's movement gave Cotto problems....
Lara would frustrate him to no end. I don't think he hurts him though, Lara would be too cautious to take enough chances to hurt or finish Cotto.

I thought Canelo beat both of them but the Canelo vs Lara fight was very close while the Canelo vs Cotto fight was not that close. I think the loss to Canelo took some of the fight out of Cotto. He thought he was unbeatable with Roach training him and he found out he wasn't. He has not returned to boxing since then and he will be rusty. Lara fights often and seems as sharp as ever.Lara would use his fast, long and accurate right jab and straight left and his footwork to keep the fight at long range and stay off the ropes. He should win a clear ud.

Two of the best fighters in the world fighting each would be a fight I would love to see. I am sure Lara would win. I am sure Cotto would fight his heart out and give Lara a good fight.

He hasn't fought at that weight in years, bad idea to move down.

Cotto should consider retiring if he's doing well financially. He's taken a lot of punishment in his career and the worst three beatings were Pac-Marg-Floyd (yes, whether people want to admit it or not, Floyd did give him a beating despite not being able to stop him).

If not, he can probably fight a few more relatively easy fights for good money.

Cotto should try to avenge his loss to Trout. Lara beat the piss out of Trout. The only guy at 154 right now that beats Lara imo is Andrade. Better skills and has about a 3-4 inch height advantage. I thought Lara beat Canelo in a close fight.
The only fight that is big enough and winnable at 154 for Cotto I think is Angulo or Kirkland. Maybe one of the Charlos would be a good fight. He loses to the top guys at 160 and 147.

i never liked cotto above ww but he had to go where his body sent him. lara would box retirement into him. not sure anyone wants to see cotto trout 2. it would be great if cotto and cheato could do a tie breaker.

lol, Cotto beats Lara comfortably, in a good fight.

I gotta say, I'm in awe as to the schism between Lara's extreme popularity on boxingscene and his lack thereof everywhere else.

Going by what people on here say, Lara would be in a 50-50 match-up against Kovalev, too.

Don't get me wrong; Lara's a beautiful boxer, but Cotto is clearly levels above him.

If anyone thinks the loss to Trout means anything, then they must not have closely followed Cotto's career, IMO.

Lara would fall right into Cotto's wheelhouse. Cotto is at his best when facing boxers.
