    Excellent piece Jake!
I was fortunate to catch Teofimo Lopez's fight against Sofiane Oumiha and came away very impressed with Teofimo. The kid can flat out fight.
I though it was a close but clear win for Teofimo but somehow he did not get credit for any of his work.

Unfortunately it took a Conlan loss and a finger to bring attention to the corrupt ways of the judges.

Interesting that Teddy Atlas was not invited back since he is one not to pull any punches at the blatant robberies that have sadly become all too common.

Im sure where ever he is , he is watching and shaking his head and saying " same ol same ".

Boxing might as well be run by the mafia.

Olympic boxing is corrupt **** and always has been. It's a complete joke that makes professional boxing look like a bastion of fairness. I was willing to give it another shot this year for the first time in like 2-3 Olympics, then the Levit robbery happened and I remembered why I quit. I won't go back again.

So frustrating because the actual fights have been great imo.

Plenty of action and skill on show.

Ruined by corruption and poor officiating.

If you talk about corruption you should remember that two most corrupt countries in boxing are Germany and Great Britain, from west
Britain just has bad referees. Germany just blatantly fills in score cards before the fight.

Not in AIBA boxing. There is a saying: "The only ones to be more at home than the host, is the Russians." - Dirty and corrupt like no one else under AIBA.

You just don't know a **** about amateur boxing. Russian boxers were nether favoured at international competitions besides Tischenko fight. You are just an another ****** ignorant trashtalker.

I was at the European Championships in Bulgaria last year, the World Championships in Doha last year, The Womens World Championships in Kazakhstan this year, The Olympic Qualifier in Samsun, Turkey this year, the Olympic Qualifier in Baku, Azerbaijan this year. I was in Skt Petersburg for the Youth World Championships last year, in Anapa for the Junior European Championships in 2014, in Anapa for the Schoolboy European Championships last year, in Croatia for the Schoolboy Championships this year.

Aah, the things I've seen, espacially in Anapa! One thing that everybody involved in international AIBA competitions know, is that the Russians are favored like no other. The less light on the event, the more favor is enjoyed by the Russians. At the Schoolboy Euro's last year in Anapa (no spotlight on this event) the Russians won 14 (!) of 17 golds. They had a good team but nowhere near that good. The most blatant case of open corruption I have seen in my life! It is less obvious at the elite level, but everyone knows it is going on. Shame on Russia!

it would have been a good well remembered olympics if it wasn't for the corruption -- Russia should not have even been allowed to take part anyway after their state sponsored doping regime was discovered.

They get rewarded with a victory in the pros to make it even though. You can't name one fighter who was robbed in the olympics who was was not given a gift win as a pro.
