Do you think James Toney was skilled and talented?

He didn't have the greatest career.

BUT do you think he was very skilled and very talented?

Yes. Toney was very skilled and talented but he didn't make the most out of his career.

No. His lackluster record and resume speaks for itself.

Freddie Roach said James Toney was the most talented fighter he's ever worked with.

Can't see how anyone can make a competent argument to say he wasn't skilled or talented.

Many could argue he wasted a lot of it. But he had it.

Skilled? Yes. Talented? Yes. Disciplined? No.

Toney had tons of talent and skill, just little discipline. Steve Collins said he saw him spar one time and Toney was drinking Coca-Cola between rounds. The guy never met a sugary treat or a cheeseburger he could resist. His Achilles heel.
