The Mandalay Bay Event Center seats 12k people. Excluding the Floyd fight, how many tickets has Alvarez actually sold in Las Vegas as a headliner?

Alvarez-Khan was priced aggressively, but selling 13k seats at that price point isn't terrible.

People talk ****, but there's a reason why Floyd and MGM Resorts had/have such a great relationship with; 16k seats, priced the way that Floyd has priced things for his fights, was just about the sweet spot.

Probably because ticket prices are pricing out the average joe on the street.

Does MMA bring an average Joe crowd? Big boxing events bring out the big gamblers and stars.

I knew it when I saw it. It's a pretty walk from the mgm casino and the clcosest one is the New York New York I think or the Monte Carlo not your high end casino like the MGM. They Fawked up by choosing that spot and not right next to a casino. People are use to pissing away money at the casino and then walking 5 mins to get to their seats. Now you would have to leave a good 20-30 mins to walk to your seat

After she couldn't even sell 1,000 tickets for Kovalev's fight at Mandalay, Duva's foolish self keeps pushing to stage a fight at a 20k-seat venue (rather than making the business move to consider staging the fight at Oracle Arena, a venue where Andre Ward is basically selling 9k tickets on the strength of just his own name, or even considering taking the fight to Barclays Center in New York).

For a person who's been in the game for as long as she's been, Duva makes a lot of bad business decisions.
Might as well have in andres living room. It will have just as many paying fans.

Kovalev vs ward is not a big boxing event. Doesn't matter what their records are, what titles they hold, how they are ranked.

                They just aren't stars.

Duva went with MGM because they were guaranteed the site fee, which would be as much as they'd get out of Ward's luke-warm Oakland fans. Ward only sold 7,600 tix vs Dawson.
Why would tickets be comped in Oakland? Serious question. Is there something more to bring fans to the area by providing comps? Also curious where you got your information. Not calling you out, I just don't keep up with these things.
