Chillemba was jabbing the melodium out of Kova and Ward is far and away better than Isaac.

Why didn't he take Chilemba's head off?

    Or old ass B-Pops??
Both two guys have never been stopped before in their respective careers first off. Second, Killa Kov dropped both BHOP and Chilemba en route to winning a UD.

Ward gone find out what all the fuss is about, this ain't no Brand that he's fighting and even Brand was able to smack Ward around the ring.

the average user on here thinks Kovalev is just power. They thought he'd come to Hopkins fight to simply knock him out... They can't make the same damn mistake again. Kovalev is a boxer when he wants to be and verse Ward he isn't ******. He will come to box him, just you wait

He also said Ward has no inside game to speak of, when Ward has a very good inside game. If anyone has no inside game its Krusher.

Scary thing is, i think John actuslly believes the **** he says, or hes a great troll
If JDJ really believes that Ward isn't a true threat then Kovalev is in big trouble.

          b. JDJ is doing a god damn awful job of promoting this fight. It's a PPV. He should be talking crap, making headlines, predicting knockouts , etc. Instead he's saying 'this fight aint that big'.

Man, Abel Sanchez is a big time troll occasionally, but he at least generates headlines that helps his team (and occasionally backfires).
I agree with you man. When a trainer says that the opponent his guy is fighting is past his prime he us diminishing the accomplishment if his guy wins, and underselling the fight at the same time. He needs to strike the perfect balance of giving props and talking trash - something like "Andre is a tremendous opponent, a worthy challenger - but he is in for a big shock on fight night, my guy is going to treat him like a rented mule on the night and give him a whipping he won't forget soon. We'll send him back to 168 with his tail between his legs"

What I got from the article wasn't along those lines. He was basically saying the magnitude of the legend Hopkins was huge in '14, the event was very big, high pressure. Not that Ward's a bum, not even close, but Ward isn't yet at BHop's level as far as fame and legendary status.

Yea I get that but he has to know that's not true because Hopkins fight wasn't PPV and it wasn't held in Vegas. But not just this interview. Last week he was saying Ward is past his prime and he really isn't that good. I guess that's why trainers train and promoters promote

I get your point, but then I've never thought PPV status makes one fight bigger than another. In fact, the vast majority of legendary ones were just regular TV fights, not even HBO or Showtime or PPV.

And I get JDJ's schtick. He's like Abel in a way, talking down opponents. But I think most boxing fans, serious and casual, will know at least some aspects of the implications of Kovalev/Ward. Looking forward to it being an exciting high action fight, not a track meet with Kov chasing a scared Ward all night. And I think it will be high drama. Cannot wait.

Its hilarious how many people are mad at what dude said, but when floyd would say his opponent was a "d fighter", they would get all giddy and couldn't wait to fork out money for a Ppv.

                    Oh absolutely agree.

I do think the fight can be a clean fight.... and it would be fairly boring... UNTIL.... Ward does any clinching or god forbid a headbutt.... That would bring the RAGE out of the Krusher and I don't believe Ward can survive that.

Heck... does anyone think Ward can survive 12 rounds of a PISSED off Kovalev that wanted to PUNISH Pascal?

Perhaps this is why Ward is keeping his mouth shut? He does not want to piss off Kovalev. lol.

yeah, i think he is intimidated by kovalev. Wants hometown advantage cause he feels more safe in oakland.
