Sergio Martinez has hydrated to 165-168, Daniel Jacobs to about 170, Quillen to 170 and Golovkin hydrates to 170-172 but Golovkin is a small Middleweight??? Hmmmmm????
...actually Ward fought at light heavyweight in the amateurs....Ward re-hydrated to 187 for the fight against Brand...Marvin Hagler re-hydrated to 178 on his last three fights....so yes GGG is a small middleweight....

DeGale/Jack is supposed to take place in either October or November. The winner has a WBC mandatory vs Callum Smith due, then a IBF mandatory vs the winner of an eliminator with Uzecategui and maybe Anthony Dirrell. If DeGale gets by Jack then Smith, he'll probably unify with Groves in a big money fight. Bottom line, DeGale/Jack are now tied up for awhile.

The Dirrells are nobodies. They're both insanely inactive and draw nobody. Rameriz is an undefeated action fighter, with a belt, and decent Mexican fan support. Whether you think the Dirrells are better than Rameriz or not, blame them for being so inactive and taking such ****ty fights in the meantime. Anthony just went 10 rounds with Rubio then fought another MW in Truax, lol. Meantime Andre got dropped and went 10 rounds with freaking Blake Caparello.

Loeffler talks like a lawyer. Most likely is a relative term. It doesn't mean they are targeting Ramirez. It just means that if they considered a move to 168, he is most likely the target. We are all free to speculate why. Again, if you say you want to fight in December, then let's hear targets. My money is on ignoring 168 and revisiting Eubank for December. They will avoid Degale and Jack especially if that negotiation falls through. Trip...the most mismanaged fighter in boxing.

          that's cherry picking
He said like 3-4 examples then you say Hagler rehydrated to 178 and you think you proved with that Golovkin is a small mw

and how Ward being 187 on the Brand fight has to do anything with this? Yes he rehydrated like that because he is a lhw now not an smw so he let his body grow into lhw and now he rehydrates like a true lhw. What's your point with that?

Golovkin should have stepped up already for years now...

Truly great fighters usually step up at least 1-2 divisions in their career even if they count small in their new weightclasses because they are looking for challenges and they are great for a reason so they can stand out in multiple divisions.

There are exceptions like the GGG fans' "go to" excuse Hagler but the thing is in HAgler's time the middleweight division was better than it is now. This present 160 is one of the weakest weightclasses in boxing... And no not because Golovkin but try to compare the mw top 10 fighters to some other divisions' top 10...

and overall those kind of exceptions very rare and even those few great fighters who never move up have some significant wins in their weightclass at least. Golovkin hasn't got one.

I almost fell out of my seat when he asked why was Badou Jack considered. Lol!!! Ramirez makes the most sense. Puts pressure on Canelo with his fan base for Sept.2017 fight.

That's comical and irrelevant. Ward fought at Light Heavyweight in the amateurs which is 165-179 pounds so he was a 168 lb professional and now a 175 pound fighter. Golovkin fought at Middleweight in the amateurs which is 152-165 pounds and he is now a 160 lb professional and talking about a move to 168. No different than Ward's progression. Please provide us with the support of your claim that Ward re-hydrated to 187 against Brand.

That's an interesting claim about Hagler except for the fact that on the morning of April 6th 1987, both Leonard and Hagler officailly weighed in at 158 pounds and later that evening during the live broadcast of the Super Fight, HBO only displayed their official weigh-in results so where exactly do you get your claim that Hagler was 178 pounds? Also, Hagler is famous for maintaining his weight and staying in fighting condition year round but you claim he's gaining 20 lbs. Laughable.

Golovkin does not fight in Hagler's era nor fighting Hagler. The middleweights of Golovkin's era are routinely re-hydrating to the low 170's in the time between weigh-in and the actually fight. The fact that Golovkin does that exact same thing makes him an average sized middleweight.

All that is interesting but we are talking about potential fights in 2017. If Golovkin's team can talk about about potential Super Middleweight opponents possibly a year from now, then all of the top Super Middleweights should be in consideration instead of just the least experienced one simply because he is potentially the biggest revenue opponent. That's called a business decision and we already heard Golovkin criticize those in the past.

Well moving up is more of a challenge than fighting welterweights, cab drivers and holding out for fights that won't happen.

Jacobs-- No confidence that he'll win so he demands money he knows he won't get.

                    Saunders-- Won't even fight Jacobs.

Eubank Jr-- Lost to Saunders, pulled out of GGG fight.

Canelo-- Moved back down to 154 and doesn't plan on fighting at MW until September 2017 and he'll probably demand a catchweight again. The new Caneloweight will be 156-157.

Various talent at 154-- No guarantee they'll move up to 160 within the next year and even if they did, they probably wouldn't fight GGG until 2018. Lara is better than a WW but I think is a waste of time.

He's wasting his career at 160. Granted he started late and nobody really knew about him until 2012. But still, he's a really good fighter who has yet to get tested. Staying at middleweight does nothing for him. I hate to sound like the detractors, but are you afraid to see him lose?

What's your point? And GGG hasn't completed 1 full 12-round fight yet! Damn, think before you type next time. Now apologize to the forum.
