Of course, the WBC will allow Wilder to have at least one more voluntary defense since they are ordering this interim fight. So, by the time Wilder actually fights a live opponent, he will have fought six voluntary defenses against bums over a three-year period.

Nah, they'll get this fight done for Nov or Dec. With Wilder out the rest of the year, that works out just fine. Deontay wont be having an interim fight.

This is bad news bears for Wilder. From what's being said, he's not going to get another voluntary after his injuries are healed. Povetkin, in my opinion, will knock a fading Stiverne out. I just think he'll route him. So a fresh off a fight Povetkin will be facing a Wilder with probably a little injury rust. So it'll make for an interesting fight for sure.

Wilder can schedule a fight before this fight is scheduled. It has just been ordered, no date or even agreement from both sides.
So if Wilder fights in late December-early January. Wilder versus winner can happed in April-May.

This sucks so much balls. Stiverne is gonna squeeze whatever energy Povetkin has left and when wilder is up, he's shot to pieces and old. The man is 36 Ffs

I'm done, lost all interest in Wilder-Povetkin. I would not be surprised if Stiverne KOs Povetkin too... But more likely a UD win for Sasha

So let me get this straight. Povetkin will be allowed to fight for an interim belt against a guy that not only did the supposedly unaccomplished Wilder dominate, but who also fights just over once every 12 months? Where is the outrage?

The fight will probably land in Russia, so drug testing won't be a problem.

If Povetkin was smart he would turn this down and wait for Wilder. Too risky and too much to lose.
