You can somehow defend the decision to defer the fight (if you try really-really hard). It's harder to defend the decision to go down by one pound 'cause that's a strange strategy to prepare for moving up. And it's completely impossible to defend the trash talk.

GGG holds two belts at 160 and Canelo has one or had one. Belts at 160Ibs should NOT be fought at catch weight.
As for Brooks, nobody forced him to move up in weight. GGG has NEVER had any plans to drop to 147. He has made it very clear that the only person he would drop down to would be Floyd at 154 because he would be making a career pay day and it's Floyd.

Yeah you're so confident but didn't want to gain 5 extra pounds to fight at middleweight. This guy claims he's not a middleweight but walks around at 170. He never fought at the full weight but was allowed to be recognized as a middleweight champ along with Cotto. This annoys me every time I think about it.Comment
