Good show champ. 49-0, you faced and defeated more champions than any fighter ever and you made more money than any fighter ever and went out on top! It does not get better than that! TBE. The hard facts are hard for the haters to hear, you left them hurting and they are still hurting. They will never get to see you lose. They hate your style because you embarrass the brawlers with the boxing brain and the speed of hand and foot. They hate the businessman who scrapped Arum's 'slave contract', beat DelaHoya and took the ppv model above and beyond where it ever will be again. PPV is officially retired now that you're gone. Then there are the racists who hate you like they hate Ward, Wilder, Cam, Barry, Serena, Tiger, Simone Biles, and on and on. The racists don't know it yet but your flamboyant success have inspired a whole generation of young black athletes to choose boxing as opposed to football or basketball. The trend fortells a new boxing heyday. The evidence is Easter, Commey, Spence, Crawford, Lubin, Davis, Williams and the current crop of olympians. All of whom esteem you highly and embrace your technically balanced approach to the sweet science. They are your legacy champ, they will surely build on what you have begun and insure that the race haters will have huge targets to toss at.Last edited by ironfriend; 08-17-2016, 09:42 PM.

After all, he is a boxer and not a fighter. Remember, a boxer is ruled by his brains, He is wise and of the safety first variety who doesn't want to risk getting hit or hurt in the ring no more than he has to. but a fighter is the total opposite.
He is ruled by his balls. He possesses a true warrior's spirit and is willing to lay it all on the line and is prepared to pay any sacrifice in order to achieve personal honor, glory and dignity in the ring at whatever cost to his health. For these individuals money is the very least and last of their concerns.
Unfortunately, Money May isn't cut from that same cloth. I am not knocking him. I am just stating it as it is for what it is. That's the reason why he doesn't want to fight anymore because he doesn't like getting hit. Right now his main concern is his health, well-being and quality of life after boxing.
This is why people suck at making predictions, don't even know what they're watching.

You only ride Floyd clit because hes undefeated. Ignorant mother***ers like yourself see that as it must mean hes the best because he never lost. ******s usually have problems looking and thinking outside the box. So its apparent that youre just a Floyd cum slurper. Can you make any valid points without looking like a dumb shlt? :AOR:

Hence the reason he threw less in the fight than he has done his entire career. lol So did Floyd. He too had a record breaking of lowest landed and thrown punches. If you are too ****** to understand and see the logic i understand. I mean you are a Floyd Mayweather fan btw. Which puts you in the category of ignorant already.

While all that is true. However, one has to admit since 2006, Money Mayweather has been carefully cherry picking his opponents, while taking the path to least resistance in doing so.
For example, by 2007 the welterweight division was stacked with talent which included undefeated fighters like: Paul Williams, Miguel Cotto and even Antonio Margarito which he clearly ducked after being offered $8 mil to fight but chose to fight Carlos Baldomir instead; While running, dancing and prancing his way to victory for less money.
Yes, he ducked all of them by stating in his post fight Ricky Hatton interview with Larry Merchant, in December of that year. That he was taking a hiatus from boxing to concentrate on promoting fighters and not letting the sport of boxing retire him but instead retiring from boxing.
However in the following year of 2008, he was in secret negotiations to fight Oscar De La Hoya in a rematch. Subsequently those talks fell through and then he announced his retirement, just to come back some 21 months later to challenge a much smaller and over matched JMM in September of 2009; A former Featherweight.
This is what many boxing fans mean when they say that Floyd lacked honor, pride, glory, and self-respect and someone who didn't fight for legacy or fans. There were all these good and undefeated fighters in his own weight division but yet he chose to duck all of them in order to face a much smaller man.
Then there's the Canelo Alvarez fiasco, where he forced him into a catch weight before fighting him at the 154lb division because he perceived him as a threat; Something he didn't do against Miguel Cotto, where there was no catch weight. Boxers who cares about legacy, honor, pride and boxing fans don't do things like that.

Well, if he's retired then good for him.
I was never a big fan as such but love him or hate him... he was the best of his time and that's all you can be in boxing.
This was his era and it will always be remembered that way. The man is retired and look how many threads are still made on him every day on this website. When you're still getting love and hate and people can't stop talking about you either way when you're not active, then you have made it and done something right.
Other fighters from his generation will be held in high regard such as Pacquiao, De La Hoya, Hopkins etc.. but the name Mayweather will stand alone when people look back and that's the truth.
