Wouldn't it be nice to outpoint Canelo again at some catchweight and claim "middleweight crown"?
You golovkin fans and this racial bs are so incredibly ******. I'M F'N WHITE!!!!! MORON. I'm not a fan because he's fought no one to prove he's elite, and using the argument that "no one will fight him" doesn't magically make him elite, he's got to prove it to us REAL boxing fans. The difference between if Floyd were to fight there would simply be that it was a 6th weight class, Floyd would probably be able to get better opponents too.

Let's use your theory for fun for a second though. Let's take golovkins best opponent, which imo would be Murray.

    Mayweather: 130 lbs starting weight
    Golovkin: only weight 160 lbs

Now, you tell me which would look more impressive on each resume? Murray would be a C+ or B- fighter at best either way, but use your brain and not your boner for GayLoveKin and tell me, who looks more impressive beating the same guy?

It's a ****** argument because Floyd is flat out too small for the division no matter what, but you should think harder before talking about "the best of this era" (Freddie Roachs' words, not mine) vs a guy who hasn't beaten top level or even fought top level opposition in 35 fights.

I doubt there's all that much of a 'jealous' thing going on. Most against GGG just don't like the level of competition he's faced, and most GGG fans won't acknowledge the reality of that statement. And BTW, at his age, he will have to move up to SMW at least. Before long his body will require it. I'm looking forward to seeing how that works out.

You're probably right. He isn't all that big of a MW.... but at least he should try SMW before retiring. That would be an interesting one.

No, you don't have to move up 5 weight classes, just have to fight some real threats, GayHumpKin is obviously exploiting a weak division doe. ******. It's obvious he doesn't want to go to lhw, since he doesn't even want to go to SMW.
So. According to you Canelo and Saunders and Quilin and Eubanks are no match for GGG - therefore GGG must move up in weight?

Or are you saying that GGG became a middleweight in order to exploit a weak division. When he came in Martinez and Pirog were around - and GGG was scheduled to fight Pirog. That would have been a great matchup. Maybe even a multi-fight classic.

What makes a strong weight class, competition? If so then a division full of mediocre fighters struggling against each other and trading trinkets can be viewed as 'strong'.

Fact is Hagler/Hopkins fought plenty of WW/LMW and quite a few nobodies. Were they best of the best or just the better of a poor bunch? Who knows and who even cares, fact is they reigned supreme in their respective eras and that is all that matters. Any comparison to someone they didn't fight is just pointless, albeit sometimes fun, but ultimately unanswerable speculation.
Good post. They're critical of the guy beating everyone in the division. He's there for the taking but nobody wants him. When he loses (just once) then they can talk. Until then.....
