Dead In America absolutely, but internationally it is growing big time and it is talent all over the world.

But in America for boxing, it won't be another PPV star for YEARS to come while MMA in America particularly the UFC will flourish because he has a young demographic that boxing doesn't have!

It's hard to watch boxing go from what it was 40 years ago to what it is today. IMO the biggest downfall is the perception that only fighters with perfect records are worthy of greatness. It leads to the g string situation. Team g string just plain aren't going to match him tough and risk that 0 unless it's for big money. He's not gonna fight Andre Ward at 168 or Canelo at 156 for 3 million while he can fight one no risk opponent after another for 1.5 million. The problem with that business model is that g string will never reach him maximum earning potential, it doesn't do much for his legacy and not much for boxing in general.
Any idea what this poster is talking about?

Nothing is happening, the sport has become completely pointless.
I somewhat share this guy's sentiments. I still follow this sport but damn. It's difficult giving any ****s when the boxers, their promoters, the commissions, networks and teams don't seem to care that much themselves.

How did it even get to this point where too many fighters are inactive?

If I had a dollar for every time I've heard this over the years I'd be talking to Floyd on my money phone right now.

                      Nothing is happening? Huh?

In June and July, we had two Fight of the Year candidates - Thurman-Porter and Santa Cruz-Frampton - which features top guy vs. top guy, the best fighting the best.

Scheduled within the next six months:
                      Ward-Kovalev
                      Golovkin-Brook
                      Santa Cruz-Frampton 2
Thurman-Porter 2 or Thurman vs. Danny Garcia
                      Mares-Cuellar
                      Gary Russell vs. Lee Selby

Plus future superstar Anthony Joshua and the return of Mikey Garcia.
