What hurts Boxing is when a Champion starts to duck his mandatory. Example: Canelo deciding on not fighting GGG is bad for boxing. That is equivalent to having the 2 best team in the NFL compete. Imagine if the Steelers clinch AFC title & Cowboys clinch the NFC title, and all of a suddenly Cowboys decide that they will vacate the title so that they won't have to compete. It is shameful & wrong. Canelo & any other champion shopuld be penalized for such actions. I think a year suspension would do him good. Imagine if every title holder decided on doing the same thing Canelo did, we would not have anyone defending there titles. It's so wrong. Tehe Amir Khan vs Canelo bout was one I didn't even bother to order nor have i've seen it on youtube, since I knew the outcome from the start. And the samething will happen with Brooks against GGG. Now I'm not gonna hate on GGG, it's not hia fault that no one wants to fight him Canelo,Saunders,Jacobs,Quillen,Eubanks,jr, & Cotto (even though i don't blame him he is too small to fight GGG). The only Middlewgt with a name that had the balls to fight GGG was Lemiux. Why on earth do we have to wait for Sept. 2017 for GGG vs Canelo? Is Canelo balls gonna grow by then? Idid liked Canelo but dude...that some serious chicken **** right there. And the blame is more on his handlers they don't believe in him...
    just my 2 cents...

Boxing is definitely dead to everyone outside us few diehards out there. Unfortunately the number of diehards is dwindling too. Boxing went from a recognizable big american sport to a niche sport for diehards. Now its just a low level sport for the last few of dying diehards.

          Sad

Not quite dead, but they are working as hard as they can to finsih it off.

I was a rabid boxing fan, I barely give a fck anymore.

Nothing is happening, the sport has become completely pointless.

Same here. I was a rabid fan from the early '80's to the early 2000. But it's to that point now boxing is only exciting once every couple of years. The top matchups just aren't there anymore. And if they are they just aren't exciting.

What's more ***'d up is that there is more excitement on Internet boxing forums than there is in the sport of boxing. Talking boxing is way more exciting than watching boxing nowadays.

Too many inactive fighters in the Haymon camp. These fighters need to change careers.

Bad news Skippy, boxing was on a hard downward spiral long before anyone ever heard of Al Haymon.

It's hard to watch boxing go from what it was 40 years ago to what it is today. IMO the biggest downfall is the perception that only fighters with perfect records are worthy of greatness. It leads to the g string situation. Team g string just plain aren't going to match him tough and risk that 0 unless it's for big money. He's not gonna fight Andre Ward at 168 or Canelo at 156 for 3 million while he can fight one no risk opponent after another for 1.5 million. The problem with that business model is that g string will never reach him maximum earning potential, it doesn't do much for his legacy and not much for boxing in general.
