Anyway, I think he will go. There is plenty of money to be made there and he will have a great time with the fans. Cubans and Russians get along just fine.

Minsk would be Ustinov's home... can be interesting.

Moscow is more likely, would like to see it matched up with a Povetkin fight, or perhaps the next Lebedev fight.

If it comes to the states to the Ward/Kovy PPV.... would ABSOLUTELY fly out to Vegas.

For Ortiz... he fought in Canada, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Panama and in Nicaragua. I am sure he would have no issues going to fight in Russia or Belarus.

The winning bid was $600K. Not sure what the split is but usually when a guy who is having financial disputes is told he has to go to the other side of the world for less than 500K he doesn't go. JMM went to Indonesia for 30K so who knows, but I'll be surprised if he doesn't try and get better money for a different fight elsewhere. If I was Ortiz I'd be calling up Haymon asking how many of my sons I had to name after him to get a shot at Wilder.

I think the split is mostly towards Ortiz, even if say 50/50....

He can get paid $300k now.... or he can wait a year for Wilder to recover and get paid how much?

And look, we're all adults here... Wilder is not fighting anyone who has a garbage man's chance in hell of beating him.

There is more money for Ortiz to be made fighting in Russia.

Put it this way... Ortiz's fine for the doping was $8,000... which was 10% of his purse.... his purse was $80k.

He is getting paid $300k or more for Ustinov... and the chance for the big belt.
