Is Rigondeaux a One Division Coward?

I personally think it was because the timing was bad. I believe Golovkin really thought he still had a chance of unifying the division and the negotiations started just before the Lemieux fight.

Another thing was that Ward admitted he had trouble making 168. His comeback fight was at 172. Had he not had those long layoffs, I think it could have happened.

But of course its just much easier to say that "Golovkin is a coward".

Personally I think his management messed it up. My theory is this: Golovkin is hyped up because he has an exciting style and is a big puncher. However, there was a really good chance that Ward would've outboxed him. If and when that happened, the hype surrounding Golovkin would disappear, he would no longer be seen as a destructive force of nature. I think Golovkin would have moved up to fight Ward if they gave the ok. However, it might not have been such a good idea to fight Ward without testing the waters at 168 first.

Unfortunately boxing puts way too much emphasis on losses.

I don't think people put too much emphasis on losses. Only big Floyd fanboys see fighters that have a loss=being a bum. Most of the boxers who generated a lot of money in the history of the sport had losses and it didn't stop them from being ppv attractions or being paid well. Everyone loses.

Back on topic I don't care if rigo moves up or not but be should just take big fights when the fights are presented to him because he doesn't have any fan following at all so he can't generate money by himself. I don't hate the fact that he didn't take the Loma fight but I just thought he should have tooken it because be had no other options. Now he's fighting for like 50 k on undercards instead of making 500 k for one fight against Loma.

A huge amount of posters on here single out certain fighters and criticize every move that fighter makes while leaving their favorite fighters alone for doing much worse. Sure, Rigo could move up 4 pounds and fight the best 126 pound fighters but they could also move down 4 pounds and fight Rigo. Rigo is a great 122 pound champion and that is his best fighting weight. He didn't make up the 122 pound weight class he just dominated it. If he did move to 126 and dominated there then the same people who insist he move up to 126 would demand he move up to 130 and then 135 and so on. If Rigo stays at 122 until the day he retires he is still a great fighter in my book and no less great than if he moves up in weight when he is very comfortable at 122.

Rigo is fighting **** fights, and it would nice if he moved up...but him nor his team said they could beat anyone from 118-126 like GGG's team said 154-168

I agree with you. I never demand anybody move up or down in weight. They know what's best for them.

That being said, if 160 is Golovkin's best weight, then why should he move up? I'm not saying you're arguing that either. I'm just using the same logic as you use above, which I agree with. Hagler, Pep and so many greats stayed in one division and I have no less respect for them.

I agree with you. I never demand anybody move up or down in weight. They know what's best for them.

Crawford just moved to 140 and lots of GGG fans want him to move up to 147.
