Pair this with Cuellar-Mares and a great double.

HBO is gradually exiting boxing. They have other programming that can generate better ratings.

HBO can't even really afford that stable they have under contract with their current budget so they can't really augment something they can't afford with good fights like they would have in the past to help build secondary attractions or b-sides. It sucks but unless they reverse course with the purse strings a good amount they have one foot out the door on boxing which has been kind of apparent for a while now.

I don't get Peter Nelson strategy yet. Or maybe his hands are just tied or something like that. Either way I don't know why they wouldn't make that fight if its available to make.

HBO also started rejecting crap from Arum.
They wanted Crawford vs Matthysse and Arum gave them 2 foreigners Postol vs Matthysse.

                    HBO wanted Crawford vs Pacquiao.
Arum is throwing them the Pacquiao vs Vargas garbage.

HBO wants none of it. They're sick of Arum.

If they can't afford the fighters they have under contract they need to get out the boxing game. Why should WE have to pay more because they cut their budget? Especially when there are other options.
