Hagler would be too strong for Golovkin. Kovalev could go toe to toe with him but he'd need a baseball bat to KO Hagler. The man had possibly the GOAT chin.

Calzaghe doesn't have the power to keep Hagler off of him BUT Joe could run and slap his way to a decision.

Ward could possibly neutralize Hagler's offense.

He beats Golovkin.. Better overall boxer, and the chin and toughness to survive golovkin's bombs.

Ward and Calzaghe would be tough matchups due to style and also the size advantage.

Kovolev too big, too skilled, too big of a puncher.

Hagler is one of those fighters that is ideally built for one division but would struggle if he went up,, similar to tszyu, and hatton..

Thats just an ignorant statement there. Hagler he isnt but to say he hasnt done anything shows your bias. There is nothing to indicate hagler would KO Golovkin, there is however evidence that Hagler beats him over 12 or 15 depending on when we are having this fight. Hagler's biggest wins were against smaller guys moving up. He wont be knocking Golovkin out but i do think he beats him.

Nope and Ill tell you why. Kovalev is too smart to get into a war with Hagler. He would box and lean on Hagler with power shots later in the fight. Hagler cant beat a top tier LHW, he is a ***in MW, period. We tend to make the guys from the past more than they were, Hagler was a beast at MW and an ATG. There is a reason he never moved up. He was at the top of his game as a MW. He wouldnt have done well as a LHW against the elites.

I'd put my money on Hagler for all 3 fights, althought he's lost twice and drew twice to fighters who aren't better than GGG, Ward or Kovalev.

Also, Hearns could have beaten Hagler but he let Marvin get in his head and thought he was going to take Hagler out. Hearns was a great boxer when he decided to box. He went in there with one thing in mind and it cost him. Hearns could have put it on Hagler if he boxed.

Those losses happened early in Hagler's career and don't mean anything. Hagler at his best was in a different league to GGG.

Of course they mean something. If they dont mean anything none of his wins mean anything either.

I think he beats them all. The only one who would give him problems is.. Calzaghe, and I know that's not a popular choice.

Ward's too cerebral and doesn't move enough. Hagler would not respect his power, and would stalk him to the end. He'll lose the first few rounds, then either wear Ward down or catch him and KO him.

I don't think Kovalev has the skill to hang with him. He'll eventually go into a shootout and lose badly.

Golovkin would drop a decision. I don't think he would trust his chin enough, and would try to outbox Hagler.. and he would stand a good chance at outboxing Hagler, except that Hagler's short stature and very long reach would give Golovkin fits. So either Golovkin will be on his backfoot, giving up 5 inches of reach, and drop a decision, or he'll go into an all out-shootout with Hagler, and IMO would lose.

Calzaghe had such high workrate and had a great, great motor. He's really a pain in the ass to fight because he throws so many punches and moves so much. It can be close and go either way, but I think Joe would throw 500 punches more than Marvin and get the decision.
