Agreed mostly. This is not a great fight but was what was on offer after the Eubanks pulled out. Stay active, take it, and move on.
Legacies are decided at the end of careers. The jury is still out on Brook. What would happen if before he ends his career he cleans out WW and then moved up and beat some of the best fighters at 154? Seems unlikely right now but who knows what the future holds?
But it is not a totally shitty fight either. Brook is not any old WW - he is a huge WW and a very good boxer going by the eye test - he was stronger than Porter which is saying something as Porter is a stronger than ave WW.
The bottom line is that if GGG gets these two fights in after being yanked around by GBP and Eubanks then it is not a bad year and if he gets a third fight in at the end of the year and especially if it is against Jacobs or a top ten contender then it will have worked out ok.
Meanwhile looks like Quillen will not even get one fight in this year. Looks like Jacobs will fight just Mora this year and looks like Saunders will have just one fight this year against some obscure fighter after avoiding Stevens.
Yet 3G gets crap for staying active?Comment

At least that's only 12 lbs from his natural weight lol...idiotComment

GGG should've moved up to 168. There's nothing for him at 160. Canelo moved down to 154, Jacobs has no confidence that he could win and Saunders won't even fight Rosado for fucks sake. At the very least they should have pushed for a Lara fight but word is that HBO didn't want it.
If the Jacobs fight can't happen next, GGG should move up. He's wasting his career.Comment

Yea let's just forget the fact that eubank Jr had a 4 million dollar contract waiting for weeks to be signed and yet backed out in the end like a straight bittch. How does that fit into your narrative?Comment

GGG has to think about his own career. If it doesn't happen it doesn't happen and we'd have Canelo or his management to blame.Comment
