Comments Thread For: Brook Warns Golovkin: I Want To Be Heavy, Bringing Extra Power!

IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (36-0, 25KOs) raised a few eyebrows when he weighed in at 176-pounds during the WBC's weight check, for the upcoming title fight with WBC/IBO/WBA/IBF middleweight king Gennady Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs) at The O2 on September 10, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

I thought that brook might be able to make it to the 6th round if he moved enough, but if the idiot actually tries to slug it out with golovkin, hed be lucky to make it into the 3rd round.

if brook looks to bring it then this fight could resemble hagler hearns, two top fighters slugging it out

An extra 13 pounds will not make him slower.
LeBron been putting on weight every year since in the league and still one of the fastest guys in the league.

Golovkin's amateur career ended at 345-5. At that rate he competed against every style and style combination. Fast feet, big power, long range, short range, counter puncher, defensive, offensive, european, american, cuban. In his professional career, he has sparred with the likes of Kovalev, Shane Mosely, Canelo and the list goes on. Brook is a good fighter, but he is not upper echelon. All this talk about power and size has me feeling that Brook's team doesn't know what to do. If they are trying to sell the fight this way then I'm not buying it. If they said something like frampton or crawford did where they found what makes GGG uncomfortable then I would want to listen.

This is 1 of the biggest fallacies in boxing : added weight adds power...The perfect example of this was Duran, moved up iweight over the years, jumped 5 divisions when started out as a featherweight , after WW, his natural power was gone he relied on defense, a jab, & good body punching + a solid chin.. I understand for the $$$ but Kell is not going to beat GGG...

Please stop comparing unproven GayLoveKin to hagler, Hearns, Duran, etc. It's extremely embarrassing, and only takes away from the greatness of these men.

I'm hoping this was sarcasm to compare a guy in brook and a guy in golovkin, both really unproven in they respected weight classes they fight in to hagler/hearns

LeBron James said in an interview with CNN's Rachel Nichols that he was down to about 250 pounds and would be quicker than last year after going on an extreme diet for 67 straight days this summer.
