Nothing new here, Andre Ward continues to duck the best fighters, like he's done all along. Now he continues to shamelessly duck Shabranskyy, a fight the fans have been craving for a couple of years now, to fight old man Kovalev and get an easy decision win. The weak punching little ducker is only hyped up by the *** crew
Man the **** up and fight Shabranskyy after Kovalev...B*tchre WhoreComment

Why are you just making shit up? You spouted out the $60k number before I even said anything about that.
And what I said was
2x the HBO license fee is not in anyway equivalent to "twice as much as they were willing to pay they paid Brand $30,000." HBO license fee is what HBO paid for the entire show.Dan Rafael saying that Shabransky' team wanted more than 2x the HBO license fee
I went by the half a mill figure, you yourself told me a little while back. Then out of nowhere, you come up with this $60k number.
And my points still stands. Shabranskyy will fight any top 175 for $150k, but needs half a mil to fight Ward.Last edited by DoktorSleepless; 08-13-2016, 12:58 PM.Comment

What Roc Nation decides to contractually pay their fighters, is their business. It's not their business to overpay fighters that have nothing to do with them. As long as HBO isn't paying that and ruing their budget, it doesn't matter.
When Ward fights in Oakland, his live gates are pretty good.Even the $850,000 he was paid for Brand was way too much for a boring boxer facing a clubfighter who received just $30,000.
Andre Ward-Sully B real ticket numbers:
— Steve Kim (@steveucnlive) May 18, 2016
Tickets sold - 6,873
Comp tickets - 1,359
Deadwood - 8,232
Net ticket sales - $598,954#boxing
According to CSAC, Ward-Dawson had 7,611 sold tickets for a gate of $706,469.25 with 1,038 comped tix. Pretty good numbers #boxing

This Brand fight had similar attendance, and if the gate was anywhere near the Barrera fight, an $850k purse is absolutely justifiable.
We don't know what HBO paid for the Barrera fight, but the gate helps pay for a large portion of the purses.Last edited by DoktorSleepless; 08-13-2016, 01:31 PM.Comment
