I never made the argument that Golovkin would win gold. I just responded to your statement that Golovkin would "get his ears boxed off." I guess the major question is, Does winning silver or bronze equate to getting your ears boxed off? I say no it does not. The boxer that was gassed after 1 and needed the fight stopped got his ears boxed off. The Chinese guy, LV Kim or whoever, lost a close decision he and many others thought he won. That is not getting his ears boxed off.
To further illustrate this point, in Golovkins last amateur fight, he lost. He knocked the guy down twice in the fight. Did GGG get his ears boxed off? Or did he just get robbed?
thats the problem.....i have seen golovkin get his ears boxed off before in the amateurs. look at the gaydarbekov fight. gaydarbekov kept golovkin at range and put on a good little show against him. golovkin was looking to hold & wrestle. he boxed gollovkins ears off at range. thats why i said he'd get his ears boxed off because I've seen it done before. & in my book golovkin is not better fit to compete in the amatuers. he's slower, relies more on power, & way more predictable.

i have no clue what point you're trying to make dude.........

I hgs knew pros would struggle. Amatuers train as hard and they now don't wear head guards. All that pros had in their fa vour is that they could take punches to head without headgear. But now they haven't even got that now.

There may have been general consensus that pros would kill amatuers and that it wouldn't be fair but I didn't share that view.

people were so worried it would be 30 year old men beating 17 year old boys.

The 32 year old pro ends up losing to the "amateur" cuban boxer who is going after his second olympic medal.

The addition of pros did nothing to change that there already were career full time amateur boxers competing against younger less experienced fighters as has been the case for decades.

They don't have to admit it, we saw it.

Golovkin amateur resume is impressive, his opposition in the world championships in 2003 was impressive, silver medalist at the olympics, beat Artayiev who is an olympic gold medalist and val barker winner.
