The biggest question is why did Arum change his mind about Crawford? He was in the news prior to the Postol fight and said he called Pacquiao directly and has agreed to fight his protected son Terence.

It's general knowledge that whatever Arum says, Pacquiao just say, "Yes sir, whatever you say sir."

After the Postol fight Arum was suddenly throwing Vargas' name as potential candidate.

Two reasons why:

1. Arum felt Crawford is not ready for a Pac fight because of the running he did in the Postol fight.

2. His team is not easy to deal with in the negotiating table bearing in mind Crawford refused to fight Postol unless it's PPV. Arum felt he'll most likely demand what Broner and Garcia want.

Had Crawford showed willingness to fight Pac, Arum would have went for it. Instead, Crawford's manager gets angry just the mere mention of Pacquiao's name.

Yes this is partially true, but also why would Arum want to risk his cleanup hitter Pac, and His new star in one fight? Really i think we are all falling for Arums ploy. Pac destroys Vargas. He gets Mayweather 2 , Marquez 5, or Canelo in May. Crawford will still be built up , All of the sudden Crawford is talking trash to Danny Garcia, then maybe he will fight Mikey Garcia. Who Knows. Pac and Crawford will probably never fight. Too much money for Arum to lose if Pac beats Crawford for future. Also he can still make money with Pac a couple of more fights.
