Then debate me, hype man. What exactly does RocNation have to gain by not only being a no-show for his very first ppv event, but to prevent them from putting tickets on sale? What does RocNation or Ward have to gain by doing that?...less money?

I dunno what Duva is working but it sounds like a lot of bull****.
We've all known since June that T-Mobile Arena was the venue for November 19. Even ESPN announced it. Why the f#ck did it take RocNation 2 months to notice? Maybe because they suck?...or is this some underhanded tactic to gain leverage on money? By preventing the tickets from going on sale, they're only hurting the event...& their money-earning potential. There was not a single thing for Ward & RocNation to gain by doing this. It only makes them looks like morons...& potentially cowards.

shouldn't they be talking about his fight with brook instead of a guy 15 lbs up?

anyone hoping this fight doesn't happen isn't a true boxing fan
What are you talking about?...this is exactly the kind of thing you criticize a fighter over. Let me get this straight. This is a boxer's very 1st ppv event, his very 1st chance to break into stardom, & likely the biggest payday of his career up to this point, but he doesn't want to show up for a short press conference? Does his family really need to see him all hours of the day for several days straight? He could have spent a few hours answering questions & posing for photos, then spent the rest of the day at the pool at MGM...he could have brought his family with him to Vegas & they ALL could have spent time at the pool. And what advantage does RocNation or Ward get from preventing tickets from going on sale? None of it makes any sense. This is exactly the type of sh#t you criticize a boxer over.

You have to be honest with yourself. The guy that went the distance against Brand was not the same guy who beat Froch to win the super-6. I barely saw any of that inside game that made Ward such a dangerous matchup. And any p4p guy that fights as big a mismatch as Brand would have KO'ed him. Ward looked tired after 6 with his mouth hanging wide open. It's fair to say that the transition from 168 to 175 has not been promising for Ward.

Being honest I think it's harder to transition to a new weight class for any fighter. How many times have we seen a fighter move up and challenge the best right away only to look out of their element? Ward is not only being a smart businessman, but being a smart fighter. More times than not a fighter does not adjust well without a transition period. Will Ward beat Kov? I don't know. But I'm 100% sure he will look better with these fights under his belt rather than just jumping in with a beast like Kovalev. Here's a question....is the fight more or less meaningful because Ward has chosen this route? My opinion, it's meaningfulness hasn't changed a bit, only prepared Andre for his biggest challenge.

There's been a few times where a fighter moving up made it look seamless. But I take your point. If Ward somehow doesn't fight Kovalev in November, he should consider retiring. Because that's the only way he's getting out of that HBO contract.

I can agree with that. It would put him on the shelf for to many years to come back from. I really think the fight will happen though. Time will tell.

You're confusing inside game with clinching... But OK...

                      This is an inside game...
