With David Itskowitch Resigning I'm sure negotiations with Roc Nation now is probably just one big unorganized mess. She was likely doing all the negotiations with Itskowitch before he resigned
Why throw a press conference 3 days after Ward's fight... a week or two seems more "kosher."
At least Duva can say, "we had a press conference in the beginning and he never showed up, so as you can see, he was never serious about the fight."
Abel Sanchez essence.
She said Roc Nation informed her last week Ward wouldn't be attending because he just finished promoting the Brand fight and because it was only three days after his last fight. She threw the press conference anyway just to complain and negotiate thru the media again.

Before he resigned other people were complaining about dealing with Roc Nation. That's probably why he resigned. I can't wait until they fold.
Kathy Duva calls a press conference. Ward doesn't show up. Says working with Roc Nation has been a living hell Golden Boy, Gary Shaw, Andrade, Juan Manuel Marquez, everybody has trouble working with Roc Nation! So anyway Ward was invited and he declined. Duva says she can't promise it'll be on Nov 19th. Maybe a date or location change. To many PPV's close together. Why even put together this rushed press conference? What was the point of this other than Duva negotiating in the media again?
The fight will happen because neither fighter will make a significant amount of money unless they fight each other. Kathy Duva blamed Haymon when she pulled out of the purse bid for the Stevenson fight. I don't place any credibility on anything she says.
That has NOT been the case for many of Ward's previous fights.
Kessler-Ward had a California ref Jack Reiss and California judges, despite it being written into the Super Six contract that the refs be from neutral countries.
The boxing commission picks the judges and the referee. It is not unusual for a commission to pick a referee from its own state.
Who were the judges for Kessler/Ward and where were they from? Answer: one was from Sweden, one from South Africa and one from California.
