I think the fight should be held wherever it can make the most money possible.

I think Kovalev and Duva would be fools to put themselves into a situation in Oakland where Ward has a crooked ref who permits him to use illegal tactics (and other shady stuff is highly likely).

Ward knows he can't beat Kovalev in a fair fight, he may be a selfish prima donna but he's not ******.

Here's my theory on it:

Team Ward want the fight to be staged in Oakland because they feel most of the money is there. They probably looked at the numbers and saw that they had 8000 in attendance plus the low ratings, combined with Sergey's low ratings, they feel that they wont be able to capitalize on the fight taking place in Vegas.

The initial contract, which was constructed with Itskowtich who is no longer with Roc Nation, stated that the two venues the fight can't take place are Oakland and Russia.

But after seeing the results I think they want to change that. They're probably going to pitch Oakland to Duva.

It just isn't a good signal to send from Ward. He's clearly not too keen on this fight but he has himself cornered and better make it happen.

That wasn't classic press conferense.There is no banner behind or stuff like that.Just little local conferense.No big deal that Ward wasn't here.

Main-Events way of doing things... And of course setting it up even if they knew from last week Ward wouldn't be there from the tweets I've read.

Really, it's amazing how bad Duva/Main-Events managed Kovalev's career so far. The only good Pay days he got came from other promoters events in which Duva always looked like having no clue what was going on.
