!!ATOM!!, animelive, anthonydavid11, Beercules, BigZ44, bojangles1987, BoxingFan85, BoxingIsGreat, boxing_pundit85, Clegg, considerthis, eco1, el***, FashionTV, gauze, hectari, Impey, j0zef, JAB5239, jas, juggernaut666, KevinMarx, KeyboardWarrior, Kuyukut, LeonSpinxMwfpce, LetOutTheCage, massa of demos, mathed, Shrap, Simurgh, StefanTosic, Sterling Archer, Sugar Adam Ali, Sun_Tzu, TheBoxingXpert, Zaroku

So all of the above must be rooting for Kovalev, right? Since he's obviously a more exciting boxer than Ward.

I tend to have a bias in favour of British and Irish fighters but mostly it is about style and a little about personality. Some of my least favourite fighters are British, namely Tony Bellew, Frankie Gavin and Billy Joe Saunders.

You have European lineage and root for eastern euros ? Canada really hasn't any great boxers has it ? I guess you have the immigrants in the Haitians and Lemiuex right, I can understand why you wouldn't be high on Stevenson and Lemieux isn't all that good either. What about Stiverne and Bute at the time they were promising ?

For me it's style and attitude.. Being from the same country only gets an initial pass I recon but that's about it, you are worth your achievements after all.. Has never been about race for me though..

Freedom I would rate Kovalev over Ward at 175 because Kovalev has stayed relevant at that weight and is not just a brawler but I like Wards skills, that dude has some serious skills of all the current boxers...

My all time fav boxers are mostly HWs as I started watching with HWs: Ali, Lennox, Holyfield, Wlad and they are from same/different countries

Examples include:

              Roberto Duran
              Floyd Mayweather
              Pernell Whitaker
              Erik Morales
              Marco Antonio Barrera
              Andre Ward
              Bernard Hopkins
              Ricardo Lopez

There's nothing more frustrating than seeing a talented boxer get exposed from lacking fundamental shi* such as cutting off the ring, having no inside game, pulling straight back, inability to adjust, lacking the discipline to stick to a gameplan, etc.
Great post. The manner in which many users on this site decide how to label who is 'boring' is either shallow or outright objectionable. I am generally more inclined to root for fighters that are skilled, complete fighters (with some exceptions).

I won't necessarily judge you for supporting boxers from your country. But that doesn't mean I'll be cool with you showing disproportionate / objectively not defendable amounts of hatred to fighters outside of your country.

Bute has been one of my favorites, but he wasn't the same after (probably roided) Froch beat him.

I like Beterbiev, but he's not one of my top favorites.

Betrbiev is a real talent, of what I've seen I've been hugely impressed by. I thought at one stage he was to be another Lomachenko rushed into a title fight and win in first attempt or two.

Bute I was rooting for to beat Froch, at the time I thought he would win and Bute vs Ward was a real fifty fifty. I'd probably have rooted for Bute at that point as I was still a bit raw over what happened to Mikkel over the Ward fight. I've kinda moved on from and become a huge fan since, I dislike Froch and to see him handled and beaten the way he was that felt fulfilling.

You're a big Vitali fan right ? I used to love watching that guy, Wladinjr never really truly grew on me until the Haye build up where he was humiliating him in pre fight pressers and clowning him then when he handled him with relative ease I really stood up and took attention. I guess he has been in steady decline since 2011 and was always going to hit the wall, the Jennings and Pulev fights he genuinely looked to have lost a step. Those guys would be my two favourites the past decade and more.
