he does things that people who never stepped in a ring, wouldnt understand.

its ok not to understand every aspect of a sport, thats why pros, amatuers and trainers give him so much praise. He is a student of the game

Ward is very simple to predict, it's jab, jab, right hand, clinch, elbow, maybe a head butt then repeat.

I'm not sure how many rounds he'd be winning if we had judges scoring his fights in the 60s, 70s and 80s. Nowadays, a fighter who is able to negate his opponent and even if he can't land much of his own, can win rounds.

Maybe I shouldn't have said he isn't particularly skillful, because he is good at what he does but he is pretty straightforward. What adds to his game is his strength on the inside and the poor quality of modern day inside fighters helps him.
Anyway, some fighters who do very few things but do them well enough can still achieve a very high standard. Just look at Hopkins, Wlad and Lewis for example.
Yes, this is very true. It helps a lot of guys these days and needs to be taught more to fighters. Lost knowledge and practice.

Only fights today that are great at this are crawford, Ward, Loma, and maybe a couple other guys

they are always ready to defend even after throwing a shot

that catch and shot then block snippet on Barrera, was beautiful

He doesnt waste a lot of energy or motion as much as he did years ago

he is evolving as a fighter....i like watching ward because i learn a lot watching him....i dont learn anything watching barnburners, they are fun to watch though

            • He is a world beater because he beat caveman froch come on dude I thought you knew.
It's funny as hell to read that he is this master of inside fighting and has all these skills yet hey leave out the fact that he head butts clinches and is just boring. I can at least appreciate when Floyd smirks because he figures out his opponent but Andre.
He is undefeated though and I can't think of a controversial win. I'm lost with Ward. If he were to ko or make kovo quit that would be his wow moment
