Kovalev has a long smashing jab that will keep Ward from outboxing him at long range. Brand probably wouldn't last more than three rounds with Kovalev. I think the future of Ward is a KO loss in November.

ward wont need power to beat kovalev. His ring IQ is gonna beat kovalev.

when will you guys learn that power isn't the main weapon needed to win fights.

    ask Floyd
    ask Hopkins
    ask lomachencko

being able to adjust mid fight is the best weapon a fighter can have. and SOG has that. im not so sure about Krusher

Pep and Whitaker didn't always win. Punchers Trinidad and Saddler hurt them and beat them just as puncher Kovalev will hurt and beat Ward.

thats like saying, take away wards headbutts and what does he have. Both fighters will be showing up with their best attributes still.

I doubt he would win a decision over ward...too hard to hit clean and has that great jab.

if boxing was about who you hurt, willie pep and pernell whitaker wouldve never been ATG

Styles make fights.....Kovalev smashed Chilemba....oh wait, he went the full 12 rounds. He is a lesser fighter, with less dimensions than Ward, less speed, countering, and he throws the same jab, Ward throws it various ways. The jab troubled Kov

Kovalev has a hell of a lot more going for him than just punching power. Ask Hopkins who was outboxed by Kovalev in every round. You think Ward will win 117-111 and I think Kovalev wins by KO or on points if it does go the full 12 rounds. The official odds on this fight are dead even. We will find out who is right when the fight is over and not a minute sooner. I am looking forward to the fight. Whoever wins it's a great win for them.

When Ward has taken over 168lbs and 175lbs, do you then expect him to be able to take over the cruiserweight division? I could see him beating guys like Glowacki, Lebedev, Bellew and Usyk, but heavyweight would be too much for one with such limited power. How far do you think Ward can go?
            Stevenson is an awful choice.

Ward needs to fight Beterbiev after

Kovalev may be the most complete puncher in the game, outside of chocolatito.

The thing is, he isnt the hardest to hit, and he is susceptible to body shots and the jab(lacks head movement)

also Kov shows very little inside game

a ko is his only chance to win imo

simply put, i see ward landing at a higher % and landing the cleaner shots, thus winning a decision

I dont see kov outboxing him nor getting a decision..he has to hurt ward to win because he wont be outboxing him for sure

Its more about skills, than speed and power. If you outbox someone and dont get hit a lot you can win as well.

He could beat some decent cruiserweights, I suppose, but their does come a point where size can be too much

we shall see. He said thats a goal of his to win titles above 175.
Toney had a decent punch and was able to fight in a pocket on inside, also he had a stone chin.

it was more about the punches being clean and accurate than about power...toney scored most of his knockouts at 160, 168...he didnt have many knockdowns and knockouts past 168

Ward can fight well inside, obviously because he is the one that usually does the mugging and is the better one inside

His chin is good but his ability to roll shots even when they land give off the illusion of a granite chin.

Toney didnt get hit clean a lot, even in his loses. He got outworked most times.

Hopkins was 78 years old though and lets not act like Hopkins wasn't fighting bums leading up to the kovalev fight. (murat and shumenov)

but I agree kovalev has a shot to win, I just don't think he can win a decision. and im never picking somebody who hasn't been knocked out to lose by knockout. so I got ward by decision. but the winner is definitely p4p king

                      Well, son...

... Win or lose vs Kovalev (in case he actually take that fight), Ward's future is the same... He already admitted that his legacy is there... He is right...

                      Happy now?
