McCallum went on to actually fight some of the best from 154, 160, 175 and won titles at those weights.....didnt team GGG say anyone can get it from those weights,....of I forgot "Any can, Can get it!!!"

Dude. Give me a break. How many of these boxers either flat-out avoid Golovkin or price themselves out?

Any boxer can say they're willing to fight another boxer, but then when come time for the negotiations to demand a price that is much higher than their deserved value. Then the boxer can say "I tried to make the fight, but they didn't want it." Well no ****! It's equivalent to De La Hoya "Yeah, we'll fight Golovkin . . . If he agrees to a 90-10 split in Canelo's favor". Get the **** out of here. We're probably never going to get to see the fights we want to see involving Golovkin because he's still not THAT big of a draw and these potential opponents will continue to over-price themselves from being able to be taken seriously.

If K2/Loeffler could get GBP to agree on a 65/35 split in Canelo's favor (which is fair) then that fight could get made smoothly.

I'd expect Hopkins to say nothing less since Canelo is part of his company but he really doesn't have room to say anything. I do believe that this is the same Hopkins that spent how many years at 160? I don't remember him moving up in weight to secure the better fights when he was lesser known. This is the same person that laid in obscurity until a Welter decided to come up in weight and start unifying his division? Hopkins maybe an ATG but he seriously won't be missed.

Canelo calling GGG to the ring and issuing the challenge and then backing down equates to a punk in a bar starting a fight and letting his friends hold him back. I don't know about our current society where men are allowed to act like *****es and get rewarded for it by getting paid to fight lesser opponents.

Yeah people really overlook the fact nobody was turning down a Canelo fight. Canelo could've fought anyone he wanted and he made one choice, and unlike Brook, Khan wasn't even a top 5 WW.

If Golovkin would've fought Khurtsidze, Korobov, or Lee he would've taken just as much criticism as he is for Brook (like he still does for Wade & Monroe).

This is the point I've been trying to get across to many people.

Of course the Brook fight is disappointing, but it's only happening because they couldn't get the Eubank fight.

Brook was a last minute replacement to salvage the event and HBO's long standing date.

He'd have been a fool to have turned down Brook.

There's a world of difference between Canelo asking for a voluntary to fight Khan, and GG fighting Brook at short notice.

The Brook fight is only happening due to circumstances. And if Canelo hadn't relinquished his belt in the first place, GG would never have targeted Eubank.

He fought in a weak MW division for 12 years, he turned down $6m to fight Roy at a CW in 2002, and he only moved up in 2006 because he'd got nowhere else to go. And before he fought Calzaghe in 2008, he claimed that he could have moved up to LHW 6 years earlier had he have wanted to.

Khan was Canelo's initial choice.

Brook was far from being Gennady's initial choice.

When all of your options fall through due to people over pricing themselves in negotiations and you still want to stay active and get a big profile fight then of course a fight against Brook in the UK makes perfect sense.

You think Cotto was willing to negotiate sanely?
How about Canelo?
Lara?
Eubank, Jr.?
Jacobs?
Quillin?

The list goes on, dude. Any one can "claim" they "want" to fight some one, but when you throw out offers that you know the other side is not going to take seriously then it's a passive-aggressive form of avoiding an opponent.
