That's not going to work for Golovkin when Canelo has options at Jr Middleweight and Middleweight.
What terms are you talking about?

They never even had official negotiations.

Again, Oscar doesn't want the fight. But all they had to do was to relinquish the belt after Cotto.

He normally has 8 week training camps.

The fight with Brook was signed the week before he was due to start camp.

Why would he have walked away from the Brook fight? It would have been nonsensical with everything set up.
im not businessman, disrespect boxing, etc, etc....

The Brook fight is very poor. But it was a last minute replacement for Eubank Jnr who was his initial target.
every single word on that post was truth and unbiassed, both fights are crap, there should be no excuses... im a canelo fan and i did not make a single excuse for his fight with khan, it was BS...

Canelo asked K2 and the WBC for a voluntary to fight Khan, giving everyone the impression they wanted to fight GG afterwards.

Again, Brook was a last minute replacement, that was taken about 10 days prior to his camp starting that had already been set up.

What was he supposed to do in that situation?
yes they were different, but they are both crap, canelo gave khan 5 months to go up 8 lbs, ggg gave brook 2 months to go up 13 lbs, thats also one of the differences, but it doesnt matter it shouldnt excuse canelo or ggg from making a joke of fights...

The WBC didn't try and dictate anything. It's just embarrassing to try and hold them responsible. Every fighter knows the rules of boxing. Canelo and Oscar knew before they fought Cotto that the winner had to face GG because he was the mandatory. They knew of the deadlines months in advance and before they put in a voluntary request to fight Khan. The fight not happening has NOTHING to do with the WBC. Nobody is going to buy that. The fight isn't happening because Oscar doesn't want it yet. That's really how simple it is.

You can't try and spin it as though they dropped the belt so they could negotiate better terms because it's a business.

                1. They didn't even try and negotiate. They went out and signed to fight Liam Smith instead.

                2. What's going to happen next year if when Canelo and Oscar are finally ready, GG holds all of the MW titles? How much leverage will they have then? Sure his PPV numbers are huge, and that will be taken into account. But GG is becoming more popular with each fight, and after he's fought Brook he'll have a huge U.K. fan base. So Oscar won't be able to come to the table next year and demand huge splits in Canelo's favour. It's not going to happen. GG is on the rise, whilst Canelo's reputation has taken a huge hit. It's GG's belts that they'll be fighting for next year, so K2 aren't going to bend over for GBP.
Why would you think Canelo and Golden Boy care that the WBC made Golovkin the mandatory to Cotto, especially when you consider that sanctioning bodies rarely make champions from other sanctioned bodies the mandatory to their champions? Cotto drooped that belt and so did Canelo. A-side boxers who also have the Lineal/RING title, have no reason to allow the WBC to dictate who they fight and when.

"The rules of boxing"....the WBC mandatory opponent only matters when the WBC Champion cares about the WBC title. Canelo does not because no matter what the WBC wants, Canleo is now a 2 division champion and has the freedom and power to face whomever he wants. The rules of boxing also say that Canelo can keep his Lineal Middleweight title with or without facing Golovkin. As long as that is true, Canelo holds all the cards especially with Billy Joe Saunders having the WBO strap and being a potential Canelo opponent. The facts remain that Canelo, Saunders, Eubank Jr, etc. all have youth on their side in regards to Golovkin and all have other lucrative potential fights with each other. Golovkin's is the one with the shortest window of opportunity so he might need to start making some sacrifices.

You're only fooling yourself. Canelo has the Lineal and RING Middleweight titles. Canelo has a US PPV fan base, Mexican tv deals and can either agree to fight Saunders in the UK in front of a huge audience plus UK/US PPV or do it in Las Vegas or Texas. Golovkin has no PPV fan base and no leverage because who do you think Saunders will choose to fight first....Canelo or Golovkin? Easy choice. PPV star and Lineal Middleweight champion that isn't a career Middleweight or Gennady Golovkin? There's a reason Canelo is fighting Liam Smith and Saunders is in talks to be on the under-card.

Canelo nor Saunders need Golovkin but Golovkin needs them if his goal is to unify the division.

Canelo has said 155 pounds to fight me and Golovkin has said no catch weight.

Why would Canelo vacate the title before he had to? He keeps saying he isn't giving anyone any advantages anymore. Furthermore, Canelo/Golden Boy were never going to agree to the WBC champion/mandatory purse split of 55/45. Golovkin hasn't earned that.

You made the point of Khan being a voluntary, the Brook fight is too big of a mismatch to be a voluntary defence in the WBA's eyes.
