the thing is, all you lot moaning saying i dont appreciate the finer boxers, and the slicker boxers, can you be genuinely honest and say that youve wanted to rewatch any andre ward fights?
Is there a more boring fighter in the sport than andre ward?

yeah i mean im not going to make out mayweather was some mega exciting risk taker, but i did enjoy watching some of his fights, so impressive his performance against canelo for example. would commit with the lead right hand and he traded with maidana and cotto especially when he fought them. what is there about an andre ward performance to make people think 'wow, that was brlliant' unless you find his spoling tactics on the inside interestingThe guy won't even commit to throwing a powershot. Say whatever about Floyd Mayweather or Rigondeaux and the likes that get labelled boring at least they open up, they'll attack the body, they throw uppercuts and such they are far better offensively than Ward.
His offensive arsenal is limited as **** he is just a great jabber with a high ring I.Q
Very good at jockeying & using his jab to control range and the tempo.
IMO he is a much more limited Bernard Hopkins I sure as hell ain't under the illusion this guy is P4P #1
He is noway near as skilled as Roman Gonzalez, Rigondeaux & the likes.Comment

I find Ward, Rigo, Wlad, and maybe Hopkins as the most boring (I know that's what most people said in this thread).
Here is the thing though: it all depends on who they are fighting.
Hypothetically if Ward fights the same way against Kovalev and beats him then I have no problem with it and don't find it boring because he is in there with a top ranked opponent. BUT last night he was in there with someone who really had no business being there and Ward still fought boring. If you are going against a bum with no real chance, then I am not interested in watching you out-point them, I want to see you hurt them and get them out of there without going the distance.
It's like Rigo fighting that random guy on the Cotto/Canelo undercard. He still fought boring as **** and didn't try to get the inferior opponent out of there, that is a problem. BUT when Rigo fought Donaire, some people still boo'ed but I personally was cool with it because he was outclassing a great opponent.Comment

Ward/Green is only boring to you because you want to see a guy go for a knockout. That's my point - who cares? A win is a win and stylistically, Ward is nowhere near as boring as Bernard Hopkins, I'm sorry. And I'm not a Ward fan - I don't consider him top P4P anything compared to Floyd, but I acknowledge his ring generalship which does stand out. He controls pace in every fight he's been in besides Darnell Boone.
That's an excuse. Same excuse people had with Jones/Tarver. "oh, Jones had to lose all that weight" "Jones is washed up" "Jones is tired" blah blah blah, the man got schooled THREE times in my eyes by the same basic fighter in Tarver.
Same crap here. Hopkins simply got outclassed by a superior fighter in Kovalev that wasn't afraid to take the risk of a dirty shot coming his way.
Now, go back and watch any of the last 6 of Hopkins' fights. WAY more boring than anything Andre Ward's put out with the exception of the Shumenov fight - and arguably he lost that fight.Comment
