    BUT.....

I'm sick and tired of some (I said some, so calm the **** down) of white boxing fans mad because some blacks arent sucking off GGG and kovalev, it's my prerogative to be impressed or not be by any other fighter who happens to be white and gets a lot of media and HBO praise, and maybe, just maybe, some black fans are really rebelling against the over clamoring for guys like GGG who are still unproven but get media push by the Steve Kim's of the world

We saw it with manny, he wasn't white but he was the quiet foreign servant of Bob arum and the antithesis to Floyd attitude and boxing intellect, so it was easy to love manny and hate Floyd

Cut it out, some black boxing fans prefer a certain style, you don't like it, fine, let us live
I couldn't disagree with you more. I'm a black man who loves a particular style of fighting, if that fighter is able to perfect it. So when I say I'm a Floyd fan, it has nothing to do with his race. He has a style that he's perfected. His ring generalship was remarkable and the outside the ring antics are great, because I enjoy nonsense. These guys are not my heroes. They are just entertainers and if I can be entertained by what they do inside and outside the ring, I'm happy. I like Broner. Not because of his race. It's because of his actions (not all) outside the ring, ring entrance and antics during his fights. I don't care if he wins. I just want to be entertained. When he lost to Maidana, most of us knew it was going to happen, cheered when he got knocked down, laughed when he got humped in the ring and laughed even more when he cried leaving the ring. I love GGG and Kov because they've perfected their craft, but there's not much after that. Remember, boxing is a dieing sport, with UFC (which I don't watch) getting more popular. The last thing boxing needs is a bunch of gentlemen. I like Andre Ward as a fighter, but there's nothing else outside of what he does in the ring. Of course there are people who root for their own, whether it's race, culture, religion, where the fighter was born, where the fighter was raised or where the fighter is living currently. Again, Floyd grew up 2 and a half hours from my city in Saginaw, MI. We're about 8 months apart and I can relate to his upbringing, so there lies the connection.... But when he fought the Golden Boy, I was all for Oscar, but became a bigger Floyd fan when he won that fight. I think everyone on here should make a pact to not make anymore racial or political statements on here. That's not what this site is for. Even if it appears that someone (including myself) is making some sort of racial statement, we just need to ignore it or assume that the person was not being racial.

Great post. I am a fan of ggg, kovalev and lomachenko. I am also a fan of andre ward who as as a fellow American won gold for us. I like Joshua and I think Spence is going to be the next big thing. Just because you like one guy more than the other doesn't mean you have to hate him and his fans.

You said disagree...but you agreed and made a stronger argument for the same point. As a fan, you have your reason she for liking certain fighters and race has nothing to do with it.

For the record...I rooted for Oscar, except versus Shane and Floyd.

Good post. I think what we have to recognize is that there are literally 16 year old kids on here, of all races, who get a buzz out of race trolling. I am [probably obviously] white but even though I like GGG I can see weaknesses so I don't expect unanimous acclaim. What is annoying , as I said in the original post is that certain posters have an agenda here and that is denigrate Golovkin and praise Ward to the heavens. Likewise there are idiots who are sucking hard on Golovkin and Kolalev.
I don't get behind fighters for any other reason than their styles and attitude towards fighting. I also might not like a fighter for their attitude outside the ring. Broner comes to mind for obvious reasons and Froch got on my nerves. But in general the issue is almost never with the boxers and almost always with certain fans.
It would be nice to see more respect among fans but that is asking a lot. My favorite two fighters ever - Nigel Benn and Hagler closely followed by Hamed.
