Wouldn't a fight vs Trip be bigger if it's for all the belts? I swear...folks say that chasing all the belts is honorable. Well Jacobs just said that's what he plans to do. Isn't it logical to fight the lesser fighter 1st. Then the big fight versus Trip? That way....if you lose, you still get the mega fight check. I mean...be disappointed he's taking that route because you wanna see him and Trip get it on in the ring. Why trash him and talk trash if the approach is sensible. I guess some of yall just come here to talk ish and leave.

Every other relevant middleweight has given Golovkin the "maybe in 18 months doe" excuse. So annoying.Comment

Let's not pretend here. He wants to fight Saunders first because he's easier, not because of any belt. He's sure he can beat Saunders, then go to GGG (supposedly......). He's not sure he can beat GGG, then go to Saunders. That's all it is.
Boxers these days want to create megafights without even engaging in good fights first. I won't say it never happens that way, but it rarely happens, and when it does, it usually takes like 10 years of built up fan frustration from you never fighting anyone for them to shell out on one big fight hoping this is finally the time they see you tested. And that's 10 years of waiting to build up a megafight taking no risks the whole time that could have been used taking smaller risks, a few big risks, fighting in multiple megafights, winning some, losing some, but actually having a real, historically relevant boxing career, and making even more money. And if you actually win those risks, then multiple megafights open up down the road, not just one.
But fighters these days don't believe in themselves like that. They just want zero risks, then one megafight, and that's it, I guess. But again how are you going to build up a megafight without taking any risks?
Like if Jacobs really wants to build this up, beating Saunders does nothing. What creates a megafight is the perception of risk. People have to believe Jacobs is a big risk to GGG. Then it becomes a megafight.
So if Jacobs really wants to build up the GGG fight, and it's not just about ducking him for another year, then James Degale is the fight. Show you can take a super middleweight's punches. Show you can chin check a super middleweight. You do that, now people see you as a real risk to GGG. Now people will pay to see it on PPV. But Jacobs who is twice as fast and twice as powerful as Saunders beating Saunders? That doesn't really enhance anything because it doesn't tell us anything we don't already know. The big question is can Jacobs take GGG's shots, and fighting light punching Saunders doesn't tell us that.Comment

Saunders is taking the easier fight and bigger money against Canelo and Jacobs is a fool if he doesn't see that.
I'd be excited if he was talking about Golovkin next, hope wba finally orders the damn fight.Comment
